Leeds Utd v Swansea Matchday Thread

Here's a tasty game if ever there was one, both teams off to a good start in the league and a fair bit of quality in both sides, Expecting more of the stuff we saw against Stoke (in the League) and a good Home result

Venue...Elland Road...Date...31st August...Kick Off... 1500hrs

Team News
Leeds United
Leeds are set to welcome back captain Liam Cooper for their top-of-the-table clash with Swansea after missing the past two weeks with an ankle injury.
Injured duo Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts are back in training, but are still not ready to return to the side.

Swansea City
The Swans are expected to revert to the side which beat Birmingham last week.
Tom Carroll could make Swansea's squad after his first game in 10 months in the Carabao Cup win over Cambridge, but Nathan Dyer and Aldo Kalulu are doubts.

Match Facts
Leeds United have won their last 10 home matches in all competitions against Swansea - their longest-ever home winning run against an opponent.
Swansea's only away win in 20 attempts against Leeds was in September 1949, winning 2-1 in a second-tier match (W1 D3 L16).
Only in 1923-24 (15) have Swansea won more points from their opening five league games to a season (assuming 3pts/win) than in 2019-20 (13 pts).
In all six previous seasons in which Leeds won 13+ points from their first five league games, they ended the campaign in the top six, including finishing third in 2018-19.
No Championship player has been directly involved in more goals this season than Swansea's Borja Baston (5 goals, 1 assist).
Since the start of last season, no player has created more chances (134) and provided more assists (14) in the Championship than Leeds' Pablo Hernandez (including play-offs).

Match Facts paint a nice picture but i'm expecting this to be a tough trial, Both sides have won four and drawn the other of their five Championship games this season, with Leeds top thanks to a marginally better goal difference than second-placed Swansea.
I'm going for a hard won 2-0 Scoreline with Bamford and Alioski banging them in

Last season we went out of EFL cup and threw away loads of points in next 8 or so matches. I was concerned about that happening again and wanted us to field a bit of a stronger team midweek, I hope we're not going to see more silly points thrown away now, should really have learnt from that last season.

relax guys, better team lost. we played well today except maybe harrison who in my opinion wasn't at his best. you dont always score but we created enough chances and probably should have put it away in the first half.
onto the next game, im not going to start panicking just yet.

Next game is Barnsley away.

We smash them and we'll be back on track.

Losing games like this one was our downfall last season, sad to say I can see the same thing happening again

It's definitely going to happen again,we really haven't learned anything from last season and we've never replaced Saiz, and to think last week many were celebrating promotion.

At this stage last season, Norwich were still licking their wounds after we hammered them 3-0 in their own back yard.

Look where they finished.

Ansolutely right, but then we'll get held to a 1 all draw by Derby.

If we don't go up this season, you can forget Leeds ever going up.

My assessment is that most of our players did well. Hernandez was poor and should have scored. Harrison was poor, Alioski was meh and Klich was not involved enough. Dallas started well and faded, and we didn't utilise Costa or Nketiah enough.

Thought Bamford did alright. Phillips, Cooper and White were good and remain impressed by Forshaw.
