The msd celtic guy at work i mentioned is going to the dubs final...just loves it, and even tbough he is Atmagh born living in Belfast, he will miss the OF for GAA.

Fair play...and if you are a dub, it makes even more sense.

GAA is in the blood and I love the passion for it.

Last year in Kilkenny tutoring a heatwave the local kids were still walking about with Hurley sticks keeping the ball up, as opposed to kids with phones in most places.

Every town and village across Ireland flying club colours and county colours....even I know teams now.

In Clonskilty when I think local boys Ardeen Rangers won there was a cavalcade of cars and you don't get that with fitba, soccer.

Only thing comes close is maybe Liverpool fanaticism, imo...and that is not a complaint or dig.

I love Rangers and like Chelsea, but I do not think it compares to boys and girls into GAA as it is their life at times.

Some bears and bhoys May disagree.

Im going since I was 3. And played all my life, up til a few years ago.. Fantastic games but what the clubs offer to every town/village across the country is priceless..

The Dubs goalie and captain is a neighbour and a guy I know well, if they win tomorrow, for him to be the first ever captain to lead a team to 5 in a row is unbelievable stuff. No matter what county or if its hurling or football the first stop on Monday morning is to the childrens hospitals.. they'll be all back in work on Tuesday morning as teachers, Doctors, Firemen etc..ordinary guys that put in phenomenal effort without monetary reward, just for the pride in representing their village/town.
