Because we’re crap. The fact that you’re arguing about our chances of finishing in the top half of the table should give you all the proof you need.

I'm not going to pretend that I'm happy with where we're at this present moment but I do think a few changes would have us doing much better.

The main issue for me is that we have to get Pogba into an advanced position in a midfield three. That is a must. If we don't change personnel then play Pereira and McT as a tight two with Pogba playing further forward on the left side of midfield. He'd be better there as he'd make up for the lack of attacking from the LB. AwB does enough on the right for me to not need a midfielder to drift that far across to cover.

Up front then I hope Martial is back. I'd keep James as LW (I did think he'd be able to play on the right but he's so much better on the left so far. In fact I'd say he's looked more dangerous there than any left sided attacker we've had in ages. His directness is a positive). If Ole does persist with Rashford then play him on the right with instruction to come inside to get close to Martial.

At the back we could well be OK against Leicester with Lindelof but I wouldn't be averse to giving Tuanzebe a go there.

Apart from City and Liverpool (and even with them I think their efforts over the last year or two could catch up with them) there doesn't seem to be any outstanding teams in the PL so it's all to play for IMO.

relax guys! i never want mourinho back at utd. But i do think ole can do alot better with the team selection and tactics. What happened to the high press that we saw in pre season? Why is greenwood only coming on in the 82nd min? Rashford isnt performing, drop him for a game or two, show him that he cant just walk into the team selection. Same with Lindelof. Why is Pogba playing soo deep?

Maybe we cant question Ole about the transfer window, that is probably out of his hands, but we can question his team selection and tactics

Possibly Lingard for RW but it’s a problem position for us and it’s not happening at 9 for Rashford.

Far from convinced by Pereira but that position may suit him better. I’d rather put McTominay there and have a better DM.

Yesterday he was just painful to watch. He just really isn’t a six.

I don’t understand it. You don’t see Klopp playing Van Dijk at left back, or Pochettino playing Kane on the right wing, or Pep playing Fernandinho in attacking midfield.

Oh, you know I agree VC, because I’ve been boring people to death with that line since we re-signed him.

All I was saying is that if Ole has decided that we absolutely have to play 4-2-3-1 every week, then we’d be better off if he dropped Pogba completely.
