The Venky's are utterly clueless!

They seem to be utterly clueless about football!

From The Telegraph:

"Jones has passed a medical and agreed personal terms with United, but the transfer has yet to be rubber-stamped because of the confusion at Ewood Park, which has led owners Venky’s to believe that the £16 million trigger clause enabled clubs to only speak to Jones before making a more sizeable offer.

Venky’s’ football advisers are understood to be attempting to resolve the impasse by making it clear to the Indian owners that the clause, inserted into Jones’s contract when he agreed an extension to his terms in February, enables a transfer to take place at the cost of the escape clause. There are no fears at United that the transfer is in any doubt. "

I cannot believe these clowns invested tens of millions of pounds into a business without even bothering to understand how it works!

It's only big club bias paper talk that suggests all but at done deal.

We've been here before when Chelsea triggered the clause in Duffers contract, but only after half a dozen attempts.

ManU have come in with others at the "exact" trigger amount?
The supposedly cluelesss Venkys have smelled a rat and dug in!

Good on 'em!

Good luck to Jones if he goes but the interests of BRFC are paramount and I can't understand criticism of Venkys when that seems to be their aim.

I think the criticism is due to their past stupidity and it looking like they don't understand what a clause is.

Usually a clause has been the amount they can leave for and usually an over priced amount. Nobody is quite sure what the hell is going on here...

Garners called it pretty early. Strange set of circumstances, but the one thing that is a given is that Jones will be leaving.

I don't really care where he goes, or the amount we get. We are getting a very large amount for someone of his age and experience and his new suitors are buying great potential, not the finished article.

The guy who called the Venkys asset strippers might not have been far from the truth!

Strange indeed?

The official site says the fee will be a potential club record..so that's more than £17.5M then?

Wasn't that duffer, what did cRoque go for?

Duff £17M
RSC £17.5M
Trying to decipher various reports puts the fee around £20M with all the add ons?
More than the trigger anyway
