Morning gents,
Pretty big few weeks coming up. 6 games before the next International break.
Fixtures as follows:
Rennes (A) Europa League
Kilmarnock (H) League
Partick Thistle (H) Betfred Cup
Hibernian (A) League
Cluj (H) Europa League
Livingston (A) League
Breaking it down into the competitions and in terms of the Europa League, i'd be happy to come out with those 2 games with 3 points, 4 would be terrific and 6 would be a dream but extremely unrealistic. Anything less than 3 and it could be curtains for the group for us already.
League cup, pretty simple, must win against Thistle at home and given the scare we got against Dunfermiline, i'd like to think we'll be much better.
The league has 3 games that we should be winning. Killie on Sunday won't be easy, they've found a bit of form under Alessio and they'll be fresh so it's important we use the squad well this week and not like the silly mistakes we made on Saturday.
Hibs away is a tough one but they're in dire straights right now and a defeat at the weekend in the derby means we'll likely be playing them with either a caretaker or new manager in place.
Livingston away on that pitch is always tough, didn't win their last season so need to rectify that.
Injury updates as it stands:
Jozo - Out until after the International break with a knee injury.
Biton - Out until after the international break with a hamstring injury.
Arzani - Likely to be in the squad for Sunday.
Shved - Likely to be in the squad for Sunday.
Taylor - Likely to be in the squad for Sunday.
Johnston - Likely to be in the squad for Sunday.
Still quite a lengthy injury list but the bottom 4 are all back in full training this week, Thursday will be too soon for either of them.
We're slightly light at centre half, Ajer and Julien the only two fit but El Hammed can also play there with Bauer moving into right back.
I think if we can come out of the next 6 games with no further injuries,, in the mixer to qualify from the EL, top of the league, in the semi finals of the Betfred cup and still 3+ clear at the top of the league then we're in a terrific position.
