Matic and McT doing the basics some how means they’re playing well. Expectations have been lowered by the fans as well not just the club. Our bench is better than our starting 11 every match and people keep on talking about how youth players aren’t ready. If anybody thinks Gomes and Fred would have done worse than Matic and Mata today they are deluded.

You have to wonder how many of our starting players would have gotten into West Ham's team today? AWB, Maguire, De Gea... Definitely.

Beyond that? You could make a case for one or two more but the reality is the quality is completely lacking.

I'll give you Gomes but Fred seems to get better each time he doesn't play. He is a diabolical footballer.

Matic is shīte too but replacing him with Fred will make no difference to this team.

It’s hard defence Ole game management. We can see Rashford was clearly unfit from the first half, and he kept him on. If he hadn’t been injured, I don’t think Ole would have subbed him at all.

Fred has a much more positive approach than Matic by far, the amount of times Matic was on the half turn but decided to play it backwards is infuriating. Furthermore McT and Fred seemed to compliment each other when they played in the same midfield last season.

Ole knows the more progressive approach is to play Fred which is why when we’re losing he always takes Matic off for Fred. The question is, why not just play this way from the start, why wait until we’re fecked?

I’ve come to the conclusion that managers are like politicians. Teasing us with what a bright future we could have and then schitting on it from a great height because they haven’t got the bollox for the follow through.

Yeah, the positive approach doesn't really benefit us when he is constantly out of position, and on the occasions he does actually manage to control a football he struggles to pass it 5 yards to a teammate.

Honestly I'm struggling to think what people have seen in Fred to think he'll make any positive impact to this team, regardless of how bad Matic is.

I've posted elsewhere but Diop, Cresswell, Rice, Anderson, Haller would all start for us. Yarmolenko possibly too.

I'm completely bemused at what people's expectations seem to be. The squad is inflated with expensive Jose flops, past it players and youngsters.
