Last season we went out of league cup and then won only 10 points out of next 8 games, it completely screwed up our excellent start to the season.
Again, this season, all going well, go out of cup, now just 4 points out of 3 games.
The cup matches might seem insignificant but do seem to have consequences for our season. Last season we were lucky with other results to be able to stay around the top, the same now, but its not good saying we should have won. The issues around converting chances persist, we've yet to have injuries and suspensions bite, I really like Bielsa but he has to find another way as his way is running into dead ends a little too much.

It was a totally different line up which go knocked out on pens.
If the first team, lets a defeat on pen, affect them in any way, they deserve to be professional players.
Too weak.
But it had zero impact

And that is the point, the fact that there are too
many changes which resulted in defeat, a missed opportunity fir game time for fringe players in another cup match, and consequently loss of momentum.
We should y have lost momentum but we did same way we shouldn’t have lost so many points after having so many chances but we do.
I’d have played a slightly stronger cup team still given some fringe players a chance got the win, continue momentum.
Could win next 4 matches and no repeat of pattern but st present its there.

8 league games played so far, there's no point in bringing up facts from a season that's ended and comparing it with this, things can and do change and this team is far to good to let it continue!..
1 loss and 2 draws at home, odd, but home form was also moaned about last season, blaming the players for not being able to handle the home crowd!..
Truth be said its been talked about a lot the last number of seasons!..
Players know things ain't how things should be and'll be doing their best to change things, but, that game the home crowd booed them off the pitch, and people on Twitsworld and Farcebook having a go at them ain't helping anybody!..

Wait a second, I think Jonty is on to something, Huddersfield lost to Lincoln in the cup and have been awful since then.

Last season:
Ppg before cup exit 2.7
Ppg in 8 games after cup exit 1.25
This season
Ppg before cup exit 2.6
Ppg in 8 games after cup exit 1.4
There is a clear similarity here so far. Last season we kicked on after this period but the similarity so far is striking.
