Media Watch: 'City will score 10 soon'

With City’s 8-0 defeat of Watford still fresh in the mind, the reigning Premier League champions continue to take the plaudits in Monday morning’s newspapers.

Hornets’ keeper Ben Foster has first-hand experience of our devastating attacking prowess and he predicts Pep Guardiola’s side will record an even bigger winning margin soon enough.
It was a performance that also caught the eye of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who revealed how impressed he was and elsewhere,Kevin De Bruyne’s exceptional start to the new season is also analysed.

From the players

The Telegraph: Ben Foster admits he was happy to be only 5-0 down at half-time as City inflict 'carnage' on Watford
Foster: “They will do it to somebody - there will be a nine or 10 out there soon.
“What makes them so devastating? Their aggression, they are always on it, always on the front foot. Nobody gets a second to think about it.
“Our players are getting the ball passed to them, and before they know what to do with it, they’ve got a Man City player attacking them.
“They all do it together. Their shape is incredible."

Features

Goal: City make winning look easy, admits Klopp
Klopp: “It never looks as easy as for City yesterday – they did it brilliantly, it was unbelievable – we have not had these games yet so we have to really work for it. The boys are ready for that."

Opinion

The Independent: De Bruyne was already brilliant but is suddenly getting even better
Writes Mark Critchley: “Back in 2017-18, while vying for the various annual player of the year awards, Kevin De Bruyne created a league-high 105 chances.
“He played in all but one of Manchester City’s 38 games that year. He was the outstanding player on the best team in Premier League history.
“This season, though, he has already created 27 goal-scoring opportunities for his team-mates. At this rate, he will have matched his tally of two years ago by January.
“It has, by any measure, been an extraordinary individual start to the new season."

KDB is just amazing.

He was too fancy for Jose and didn't fit in defending from the back 10. Now he defends from the front and middle and back. Just the way some managers want to play the game and how they are perceived. Mancini got called defensive even though at the time of winning the prem we scored more goals than anyone and it was on the back of the press saying we had 3 CD's with Yaya. When Jose first won it I think it was on the back of only conceding about 5 goals in the first half of the season which is why, had Woodward listened to Jose and got Maguire when he wanted then Jose could still be at United and they would be looking at top 4 again. Not complaining
