I believe this is how the Glazers view him. They are not expecting anything from this season or possibly the next. It seems to me like they have a longterm plan, but for now they just want to rid united of the post-fergie manager signings/identity and start fresh, ready for a new, more experienced manager to come in and take us to the next level.
I beleive that's why we haven't replaced Lukaku or spent big this summer. The short-term objective isn't about making Ole successful, he's there to inspire patience whilst the ugly part of the rebuild job is done.
This wouldn't be possible with a WC manager who is more interested in the short-term.
I would hope that Ole will win trophies again here, but if he doesn't, I don't think that will necessarily be the end of the world for us.

Ole was the first ever manager to go through a CL tie in spite of going away from home 2-0 down. Against PSG too where nobody have us a shot.

Alex Mcleish won a league cup but his managerial career went down the toilet. Poch May leave Spurs without a trophy but big clubs will want him. And why is that? Well, intelligent people will know why but the dullards on this thread who only think in trophies will never understand the nuances of this topic.

Once again VC too stupid to understand the point.
Jose has won loads of trophies and he’s a top manager. The point is that you don’t have to just go on trophies to define how good a manager is. But I think/hope VC knows this. Hope he realises he’s filtered as it’s a bit weird he’s trying to get my attention like a lovelorn teen.
