Only At Arsenal FC

So we have a 1st 11 giving away goals like it's a SOGOF promotion. They can barely keep the ball, can't press worth a dam, can only score from one position and couldn't play out from the back, if they grannies depended on it.

Meanwhile we have a reserve kids side who keep a clean sheet using two semi fit FBs and the club's most maligned defender. They keep the ball most of the game, press like a swarm, play out from the back comfortably and can bang in 5 the other end. Scoring goals from all over the team. Finessing it with two "Fifa" goals created by a make shift RB and a sixth former upfront.

You couldn't make this up if you tried. 10/10 for Freddie. At least we know SOMEONE at the club remembers what an Arsenal team is supposed to look like

The kids are showing a lot of promise. Ljungberg's impact is showing. But they need to be patient and level-headed. We once had a fantastic team of youngsters who won the FA Youth Cup in 2009, but out of that whole group only about 3 are playing for a top league team. The rest are either in junk leagues with junk teams or have ended their football careers, and yet they are all still only in their twenties.

For me the team going forward should be
Martinez Bellerin, Chambers/Saliba, Holding,Tierney, Torreira, Willock,Lacazette, Auba, Pepe plus one of Saka/ Guendouzi/ Ozil depending on the opposition...rotation etc........I can't wait to see the back of Xhaka, AMN, Luiz, Sokratis and Mustafi. In my opinion on current form Martinez should be in goal. More assured on crosses and much better distribution than Leno. I've been really impressed with "calamity" Chambers in the last two games. Maybe he is fulfilling his early potential at last.

Knee Jerk off the scale. If we played this team next week at OT and got hammered you'd be saying something completely different. It was a one-off against an inferior opponent and we won. That's it end of.

You clearly haven't read many of my posts

I'd like to think Emery isn't dumb enough to play the same team at OT. It'd likely get thumped. But I'd also like to think he is clever enough to see what certain members of that team and a strategy tweak, will bring to the 1st 11.

AMN needs a move alright Sammy. But just positions, not clubs. Letting him leave would be a big mistake. He's fallen victim to his own talent. His ability to play anywhere on the pitch has lumbered him playing RB.

He originally ended up there to cover Bellerin, after beginning to shine in MF. The combination of a few (to be expected really) mistakes at CM not long before Bellerin got a smaller injury and was pretty much rubbish for ages. Saw him shoved back there for months. Then we got Lich to cover till Bellerin got back but he was rubbish so AMN had to keep playing there. Bellerin came back again, was flying a short while and POP!! Cruciate, gone a year. Poor AMN lumbered again.

We need to sort out the defence and get him back attacking. No player who can run a ball past players for fun, the way he can, should ever be in defence. Exception being a team with more two footed ball runners, in the 1st 11, than there are ATT/MF positions. And even City don't have that.

AMN does deserve a run in his preferred position before a proper judgement can be made. Yes he can be bit sloppy at times and foolish (even though I thought the second Yellow was wrong it was a silly challenge for a player that has been carded) but he’s young with real potential in my view.

The first team need a performance. Op is right. The form is terrible. They need a big performance

How long has it been since we beat united at OT in league.. 11, 12 years?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's been 13 years since our last league win at Old Trafford. I can still remember that humiliation in February 2016 when they had so many injuries and they still beat us 3-2! we really need to break this hoodo asap, if we don't win next Monday you have to question are we going to win any big away games this season or anytime soon? our last away win against one of the big 6 in the league was January 2015!

We were meant to beat them last season also but couldn't.

Remember we have not beaten a top 6 team in the league since 2015 I think

Beat Spurs, United and Chelsea in that time

Think emery should at least drop xhaka, and or one of the CBs for Old Trafford. The Forrest game was first In ages where we’ve controlled a game from start to finish, didn’t do anything stupid and defended well as a team. Yes it was a weaker opposition, but no one would be surprised if we still gave them plenty of chances. We’ve done it to weaker teams the Forrest in Europa!

Hope the players don’t have some issue still with Old Trafford. Seems no matter how good we are or bad they are, we still never show up. We should be able to beat them, there should be no fear factor anymore. I hope we don’t do our usual and give a team in poor form a big lift!
