Another version was that Mr Desmond was already on route to Glasgow airport before the pens were taken so could not have been witness to nothing happening anyway

And we are meant to believe a successful multi millionaire made a decision to spend a fortune due to this

Was it not more likely he sanctioned a big spend to protect his earnings (and the success of the team) in light of what seemed to be a challenge

A challenge that didn’t materialise, but we and he didn’t know that at the time

It always seemed wildly unlikely that Celtic would make major policy decisions based on the alleged behaviour of some Rangers directors after a game.
