Best performance so far

Come away from Elland Road ecstatic with Leeds last night.

I mentioned it was a massive game even at this early stage and we stepped up when needed.

A few ropey performances from players you’d expect it from, but to a man I thought Bamford was fantastic. Yes he missed a sitter again but his overall play was sublime, and the bit of skill leading to Bartleys challenge, I didn’t know he had in his locker.

Bielsa messes up massively bringing Roberts on, he looked more unfit than me for goodness sake. Confident he’ll be a big player when he’s 100% but Bielsa at fault there.

Overall though, top of the league and in with a shout.

Well done Leeds.

I'd think the way Bielsa brings players in and the way they have to prove to him they're fit enough to play his way suggest as far as he was concerned Roberts is fit enough!..

Somebody said in another thread earlier the way West Brom set up in the second half it took Roberts out of the game!..

That'll be why Bielsa took him off, but it won't do the kid any good confidence wise, hopefully Roberts is man enough to see it that way!..!..

It was a good move, we were under the cosh and the extra defensive was useful. Tyler had next to no impact on the game second half.

Was a fine display and yes we were under the cosh a bit but the only stat against us was possession 52-48% and we all know that in this country that means sweet fa MOT

I don't recall Kalvin being affected when he was taken off after 30 minutes last season. It's no different for Roberts.

I don't remember Kalvin coming on as a second half sub and than being substituted!..

Must have missed that one!..

Brave from Bielsa, Germany. Princess Leia had to go.

In the post-match interview, Bielsa apologised to Roberts about three times for having to take him off.

He was intent on explaining that it was tactical due to West Brom changing their approach and nothing to do with Roberts' performance.

I've not heard MB apologise to a player like that before - he must have realised that his head had gone down with the sub.

It's really powerful how honest he is and how much he takes responsibility.

Some people might see it as a sign of weakness, I see it as as sign of strength.

Couldn't agree more Jonty!
