Man City v Wolves Preview [LIVE]

Date: Sunday 6th October
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Kick off time: 14.00

On Sunday Wolves travel to Manchester to take on League Champions Manchester City

Both teams played midweek, City at home on Tuesday against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League and Wolves on Thursday away against Bestikas in the Europa League. Both teams won their games, City by 2-0 and Wolves by a single goal scored deep into added time.

With this game City certainly have the advantage over under dogs Wolves for the following reasons:
1. They have the home advantage.
2. They have had 2 extra days to recover from their last game.
3. They haven’t had to do any travelling.
4. Pep Guardiola has a bigger squad to choose from than Nuno Espirito Santo.
5. They are better than Wolves.

The last time that the two sides met was in Shanghai on July 20th when they contested the final of the Asia Trophy. Much to everyone’s surprise, Wolves won the game 3-2 on penalties with neither side managing a goal for 90 minutes.

Last season in the Premier League the third game of the season saw the two sides meet at Molineux, the result being a 1-1 draw. The return game at the Etihad saw the home side produce a convincing 3-0 win.

Last Saturday saw both teams win their respective league games, City beating Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park, their 5th league win in 7 games and a vital 3 points when chasing league leaders Liverpool for their third back to back league title.
Wolves recorded their first win of the season with a 2-0 home win against Watford, every bit as important to the Wolves team and supporters who will be hoping to see the result kick start the league season for the boys in Old Gold.

Gem’s prediction 3-1

Tomorrow Wolves play their 4,900th league game. Only the 4th team to reach that milestone in English football. Any guesses on the first 3?

Notts County, Burnley, and Villa?

Good effort Bute. Villa not correct but the other two are

I knew County are the oldest club, and had a feeling that Burnley were founder members. The 3rd one had me stumped, and was a wild guess. 🙃
