Addicted to watching United suffer

Reading a Guardian article comment section under a piece about Rashford I stumbled upon this reading through some of the comments. Below are a few users replying to each other and feel this is partly true of all comment sections in some weird way - we all get addicted to the misery

These negative Man U articles are like an addiction - I get a quick hit and then feel cheap for enjoying it so much. I then try to stop the urge, promise that I won’t check again in two hours and then cave in and there it is again. So so enjoyable and I wouldn’t say unsatisfying but still sort of wrong.

I can't help but reach out and say your not alone. I too am experiencing similar struggles and I assume there are many more world wide. While I am confused as you are, I believe we can work together to understand this addiction. I encourage anyone to come forward, open your heart, and admit to how many times you've watch Rio Ferdinand's "Ole's at the wheel" clip...

I had this image today that reading PL news these days is like driving in a desert race, seeing a cloud of smoke way up ahead, then seeing the nice new BMW that keeps running in fits and starts; meanwhile, rally cars (some with fancy decals) alternate in speeding ahead but then slowing down. And then there are the two burning hulks by the side of the road.

Solidarity to you both. I too can't help but gorging myself on their misery. I've tried to wean myself off by reading about Manchester City's misery instead, but the highs aren't as good and I keep coming back.

Ye? Well you'll be going through a harrowing cold-turkey session when we.....no, can't even finish that b**lshit - we really are dire.

Ah well, it was Wengers and Arsenal in the past few years. Liverpool for a couple of decades. We're the new food and drink for the BTLers. Oh well.

I deal with my addiction by sorting the comments in order of recommends and the top ones are usually the wittiest ones.

That one is the pick of the bunch. Wonder if they have ever dabbled with a bit of Leeds on a night out.
