Nathan Jones

Has contrived to outlast yet another championship manager after Daniel Stendel became the third manager in the championship to part company with their boss (having been sacked by Barnsley the season after winning promotion at the first time of asking). Jones' record at Stoke is woeful, his post match comments after the Huddersfield game sounded like a man at his own funeral, and they got dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Crawley Town. Surely he can't still be surviving off beating us on penalties?

Seems a bit of a strange one the Barnsley sacking. All their fans were raving about him last season. Did they expect to be pushing for the play offs?

He got his win so who knows now. Very lucky to have a job.

Stupid choice as manager in the first place, he might be a good manager but wrong choice for a club like Stoke. Load of overpaid egos who wouldn't respect a lower league manager they never heard of. Should have gone for a bigger name.

Don’t think stoke have been as rank as results suggest... seem to play ok then let in soft goals. Same can be said of Barnsley.

Yes - last time they had a manager due for the sack, another club came in headhunting him and Barnsley ended up getting compensation.

Barnsley fan here. It is a strange sacking and there are a lot of fans that are angry with the board not the manager.

Thought I would also mention that it is good to see that Berardis had his red card overturned

Im going back to lurking now as our board is as dead as the Barnsley Conservative club

I've seen a lot of Barnsley fans upset with the decision.

Jose Gomes of Reading has become the fourth managerial casualty of the season.
