There are lots of strikers who don't score a lot of goals, Emile Heskey, for example, played 62 times for England as a striker but his conversion rate for club and country was woeful, at the height of his powers he scored under nine a season. However, If he'd been offered to us I would have been happy about that as he offered so much more.

LIW he's young got time to evolve. Did you see Dallas as a rightback? Henry was a winger, Kompany midfield.

Just cause he could evolve over time though dosent mean he would be ready for us to do it right this minute.

I agree with whoever said earlier that Eddie will get less time as Roberts returns to fitness.

Definitely not, but is there any harm in trying?

As we have seen with other players like Aidy white getting messed about to try and fit in other positions can have a real impact on a players ability to progress.

I also be surprised if arsenal would be happy with us changing a player like that.

I also think we have other players in the squad who are far more suited t9 that role.

Honestly I see this as a bit of a becchio style debate if I’m honest

Becchio knew where the net was and was fantastic for us, however while he got you a goal you were basically trading in a goal for having to play with ten men for the game because his style of play was so limited.

That sort of player is, even though it’s only a few seasons ago seems almost bygone to be honest.

Strikers need to do more than just have the best conversation rate, yes they need to score, however there is more to it then that.

I’d also note Bamford has a record of one goal every 2.6 games, which by no means is actually that bad a return.

Sometimes stats have a bit of truth in them!..
