Rumours today in papers and social media that Steven Gerrard is the club's number 1 choice to replace Bielsa if he leaves in the summer
Worrying time for a managerial rumour I must say. Given we failed in series 1, and series 2 began with selling his better players and inadequately replacing them, added together with some hit and miss form, is Bielsa's posisition tenable?
Thoughts?
Gerrard to Leeds?

If we don't go up he will be gone.
I would be keeping tabs on Lee Bowyer 100%

Spot on, Gelderd. This league has a nasty habit of finding out weak managers. Bowyer looks promising. Gerrard has simply guided the second biggest team in Scotland back to Premiership, with a budget few of his opponents could match. If Bielsa goes, SG would be bottom of my list to replace him.

They were already in the top tier before SG arrived.

I thought I read a few weeks back that he was being seen as the natural successor to Klopp?
More paper headlines and click bait.

Spot on VOF, he is bound to end up at Liverpool so why should we be his stepping stone back into English football. Anyhow I get the feeling he would not like taking on a difficult task like getting out of the Championship. Much easier to stay at Rangers with only 1 other major competitor in the league

Ideally I’d want corberan so there’s continuity within the club.

Well, after reading the relevant comments on this post, I still don't get why Steve Gerrard would be a good choice to follow Bielsa next season if we don't go up and he leaves. Apart from the fact that he's a celebrity player, nothing he's done so far in management recommends him. The SPL is very different to the Championship. Frankly I think it would be a disaster.
