Héctor Bellerín

Soon we should have our Spanish right back... back.

A lot of our fans have pinned hopes on his return and the introduction of new signing Tierney in leading to a more attacking and hopefully successful dimension to Emery's turgid, often baffling style of football.

I can't speak about Tierney, haven't seen enough of him and haven't seen any of him against good opposition but am hopeful from what others have said.

Bellerin on the other hand I'm not sure about, he was definitely a "hot prospect", at 24 I guess he still is in some ways but as of his last few seasons for us he was pretty average. Better than some of the absolute banter players like Jenkinson or playing CBs there but not really much of a force in attack or defense.

Am I wrong, is he actually a top player or are a lot of our fans overhyping a player because he's been out long term?

Bellerin is very good going forward but defensively his physicality let's him down.

Injuries have seemingly hampered him a lot but he's still a good RB. Think he is also hindered that he is in the Arsenal side because I'd probably say in Liverpool/City's defence, when fully fit, he would be branded as one of the best RB's around. Don't think anybody looks great in Arsenal's defence, but unless Arsenal suddenly become watertight at the back, I don't think he would get the recognition of a top RB. Still relatively young and still developing really, but I feel like he'd need to move on the continent to a better defensive team, maybe Atletico Madrid for example, to be truly recognised as a top RB and to improve defensively.

I just hope that he comes back with the same pace as before his operation. His injury was very serious and Theo was never the same player after his similar knee injury.

Looks a bit tubby at the moment.

He's been out for a long time and I think that some people remember him as being better than he is.

When he first played for us his pace was electric going forwards and he looked a great if raw talent. Unfortunately he never improved and lost confidence so in some ways he actually got worse. His defensive positioning is not very good and he is quite easily muscled off the ball. He's a minor upgrade on Chambers at RB but no one should get too excited about his return. I am looking forward to watching Tierney. From what I have seen so far he is exactly what we have be requiring for so long.

Bellerin shone brightly early on, starting "Return to Barca early" fuss. Move never came about then it started to go wrong for him. Team defence went to crap around him while he was more interested in his image and developing his brand (as though he had one) to get a move. It was as though he thought one day "Maybe Barca will sign me back if I look cooler." Though playing well when he was injured, he was still more concerned with the "Lookin' good doin' it," Than he was with the playing football. Brand ain't worth a damn now without at least a season looking as talented as he has done. HAS to step up or career is done.

Still need to see Tierney facing a top level opposite number but I've got to say his 90 mins the other day certainly caught my eye. He looks a far better player than Bellerin (tad slower obviously). A complete player with little else to do but stay healthy and become a better player. Him doing that should "encourage" Bellerin to focus even more. Because It'll be Tierney being talked about more, I've no doubt.

If his presence does bring Pepe to his best then that would be huge. I guess in theory Bellerin could overlap drawing a defender wide while Pepe cuts inside.. again

All I can say is thank god we sold Alexis Sanchez first! Can you imagine

Think Pepe scored for Ivory Coast.

However, he was brilliantly set up by Zaha who will probably be heading to Chelsea at some point

Not bothered at all that we never got Zaha myself. Don't think he was ever worth considering as I don't see him getting any better. Pepe is amusing at the moment. Poor kid appears to be getting the "No goals for you, no matter watcha do" treatment. PL fates always choose one poor sucker

He'll come good I'm sure. Not exactly the best time to be settling into the UK or Arsenal FC. Bellerin and Tierney bringing width will make a much needed difference to him..

Top player and we are lucky to have him at the club. Big personality in the dressing room and loves the club.
