Kebab - Open or Wrapped?

I class myself as a kebab connoisseur. When I lived up north a kebab would come wrapped in a naan bread that you can eat with your hands. When I moved to London I found that east London kebabs were always wrapped and you can eat them with you hands yet in west London most kebabs are open and you need a knife and fork.

I asked all my colleagues today what their opinion on the matter and the majority said open kebabs. That is bread or pitta first topped with salads and then meat and sauce. You have to use cutlery. In my opinion a take away kebab is too eat on the way home from a pub in your hands so it needs to be wrapped.

What kebab is best?

Open or wrapped?

Open....have some class dude.

Best ever was in Herne Hill near Half Moon pub and Donegal road after pub Belfast kebabs.

Guys in herne hill filled it with lots of lovely salad too in order to keep us trim!

I prefer a nice donner in naan all rolled up. But you don’t need cutlery to eat an open kebab. Many a time I’ve woken up with garlic sauce and chilli all over my face.

Kebab wrap.

Throw a few chips in there and you're golden.

a lot of places here up north started doing home made naans for their kebabs which are usually a lot better and bigger than the tiny pitta you used to get. Can tear strips off and make your own mini wraps/kebabs. But gta say aslong as the kebab meats good doesnt bother me if its open or wrapped, naan/tortilla/pita.

Donegal Road after pubs

Oh how many times I somehow made it to there before a taxi. The final straw came when I woke up in bed and rolled my face into one with garlic sauce all over it. I haven't touched one since.

I've eaten the proper ones in other countries but never touching that crap again.
