Serious question

What’s better for us.

5 goal kick

It's frustrating because Bielsa is someone who does so much analysis and thinks about the small details. We get so many corners and offer no goal threat whatsoever. If we just scored even 1 in 20, we have 4 more goals. Can be the difference in a game.

It's the same reason why defending set pieces is a weakness - we have a tiny team. Selling Jansson basically lost us our only threat in the air.

Got to work on some short corners, there is no need knocking it in 15 times a game to be cleared.

Too many short players to pose a threat on corners and crosses. we all know that.
Don't understand why they keep on doing it, instead of changing to short corners at least

Completely agree. I’ve made this point before...at what point do we start holding Bielsa more to account for this in terms of changing the approach?

Said it before on here I joke with the lads I sit with we wont score a goal all season from a corner as we have no presence, problem is we get a dozen a game

Spot on, Jonty, Jansson is a severe loss for us at both ends. His presence at corners meant that opposition teams often needed two men to mark him, freeing up space for Kemar and Bamford to attack the ball. Thinking about it, Kemar did a lot of defending for us two. The only positive is that this league is a lot weaker than last year, but it's only a matter of time before teams like Forest, Wednesday and West Brom start to show their pedigree. With the notable exception of White, we are weaker in most areas this year. If we had forked out on a Dwight Gayle, where would we be now?

Well if we have had 80 corners, then that means we should have had 2 more goals
Because on average you need 40 corners to score 1 goal

89 corners now I think.

40 corners per goal is interesting. Is that direct goal in first phase I assume. We don’t get a second phase because majority of corners are hammered well clear and often result in counters - i wonder how many goals come from the second phase too.

It is first phase, but it is a little bit iffy I think. They only look at corners as in first phase so second phase would be a part of open play. Because it is not a clear line for when a situation is not a part of a corner or a result of a corner, I think it would have been better that they had made it into phases. And not only for corners, but for freekicks to

Goal kicks and corners don't win games. Still prefer goals.
