He was given plenty of opportunities and you know it, decades of games went by with single digit assists and that's being kind.

Emery doesn't know what to do with him. I don't think he has a clue about creative players. Anyone playing number 10 will get bypassed in his "system" (for what it's worth). It's no surprise that he can't play Ozil.

Thing is if the manager's tactics were working you could totally forgive leaving out any player as he sees fit, but they're not, so you can't.

Mkhi was meh but Ozil is still great and the only creative player in our 11.

What year is it again? Please do remind yourself.

Please remind yourself again who else is going to create chances for us? there's a reason why Pepe hasn't been great so far because there is no one in the team that can play killer passes for him. Ozil is the one that can do this! If we keep this midfield for the rest of the season and Ozil is kept out we will not get top 4 or win anything. The only way we will get top 4 is if either Ozil is featured on a regular basis, or we sign one or two decent creative midfielders in January, or Willock or Guendouzi turn into Fabregas overnight.

That any Arsenal fan can even attempt to put an argument together for Ozil to be playing at this stage is ludicrous, sorry but I'm not going to read your response.

Don't start quoting me stats from the past, 3 out of 6 seasons or whatever I started reading there before I let out a big sigh and stopped. What has he produced in the last 2 or 3 seasons? The recent seasons? The ones that actually matter? F**k all and he was given ample opportunity and that's why he should never play for us again.

Xhaka makes plenty of mistakes but overall he does put the effort in, you can't really fault his effort and it's a hell of a lot more than Ozil has ever given. Effort doesn't make up for mistakes and Xhaka should be a squad player at best but from Ozil we get zero effort in comparison.

Ahhh the typical effort argument. If he ain't running 10km a match, bench him. Xhaka and effort are 2 words that should not go together. Xhaka is not creative, and cant defend. Gives up silly fouls in dangerous areas as he lacks mobility.

I would take Ozil getting 2 assist a game (his stats could be better if he had not play with some poor quality strikers at times) and doing NOTHING defensively all game than have Xhaka run around all game and we end up losing due to STILL being defensively poor with our midfield and defenders AND creating absolutely nothing.

It's not about running 10km a match, it's just about putting a shift in and actually helping the rest of the team defend AT ALL. Ozil does not help at all, he doesn't press and he regularly loses the ball and just stops running and starts walking arrogantly in the other direction, expecting his team mates to recover possession that he lost.
