On Wednesday Wolves make the short journey to Birmingham to take on midlands rivals, Aston Villa in the 4th round of the Carabao Cup.

Wolves are in the fourth round following a home win against Reading which went to a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes. Aston Villa’s 3-1 win away to Brighton was somewhat more impressive.

Wolves go into the game on the back of a run of 8 games undefeated (in all competitions) with their last two games being an away win against Slovan Bratislava and a draw at Newcastle.

Since Villa’s defeat of Brighton in the cup they have thrashed Norwich 5-1 and beaten Brighton again in the league. On Saturday however they fared less well when they suffered a 3-0 defeat by Manchester City.

The last time the two sides met at Villa Park was in March 2018 in the Championship. At the time Wolves were top of the table and Villa third but Villa ran out convincing 4-1 winners. Only one of the 4 Villa goal scorers is still at the club (James Chester)
That game was one of only 4 losses for Wolves in the 22 games between Jan 1st and the end of the season on May 6th.

Wolves midfielder Bruno Jordao who scored in the previous cup game against Reading before being stretchered off with damaged ankle ligaments, could feature if he has returned to full fitness.

We really need to make sure we are abiding by the rules when we score goals.

There is a device that when fitted to a shopping trolly that locks the wheels when the trolly is taken outside of the supermarket area. Something similar fitted to the player's boots that prvents them from stepping offside and of course they need shirts with no sleeves so that they have no arms for VAR to judge a feckin' handball before the ball hits the back of the net

As I understand it he has a fracture rather than a break and will likely not need an op. But results of scans to confirm that are still awaited

Thanks.

Speculation is that it will be much changed teams from both clubs for tomorrow’s game. Jordao back in training and in contention, and evidently every chance we will see Perry and Ashley Seal also

My idea of strikers with no arms is certainly catering pace.

Is it broken, as reported.?
It was intimated that he might have an op, did he.?

I'm pretty sure fracture and break are synonymous.

Sometimes ligament damage can be worse than a break.

You’re right wulfrun although even amongst clinicians when a bone is cracked it tends to be referred to as a fracture, but a full break of a bone is a break. But strictly speaking a break and a fracture are one and the same

Then a fracture would heal quicker, I believe.

This reminds me of that scene in The Office where they are discussing Dwarves, Elfs etc

rumoured Boly was headed to London for surgery/see a specialist, either would suggest not the best news
