VAR isn't the problem

We took a "VAR expert" from Australia and he fabricated a foul to fack us over, so not sure that solves any problems.

It doesn't make any sense to call someone a VAR expert so it's clearly part of nonsense sales pitch from the idiot who hired him.

An expert ref is the only qualification required and that guy clearly isn't one

OP, the problem is that two people can watch the same replay 100 times and still not agree about the correct decision.

VAR just moves the debate into a studio and often misleads the official making the decision with slo-mo.

Really? IMO this season has shown that the refs simple don't know the basics. Two people who are clueless will often disagree, two people who are experts have a far better chance

Just watching MOTD2 and I can see why the goal was ruled out, at least they are looking at things now and not just following on with the on field decision.

Of course the refs know the basics.

If the VAR officials are confident enough to overturn a referees decisions after reviewing the footage, then there should be no issue in showing the incident on the big screens so that the fans know what is going on and why a decision was changed.

I can't see why it was disallowed and i've watched it more times than Crouchy!

A really poor decision imo.

Does anyone know if they officially came out and lowered the bar this weekend? Considering a few pens were given this week for minimal (if at all) fouls overturning the ref, when last week vertonghen gave away the clearest pen of the season and it wasn't overturned.
