How do you solve a problem like dele

It’s clear for all to see, Dele Alli is a shadow of the player of 2-3 years ago I just can’t understand it
He’s totally lost his “edge", he was the player opposing fans used to hate and boo, bit like Danny Rose, but while Rose has also gone backwards at least he still plays with an edge to him, Dele is just so passive now it’s unreal, he basically lets the game pass him by and that’s not what we were seeing only 2 years ago
So what’s happened? Is it the injuries? Is it his off field stuff that has taken away his focus ?
We are a much better side with a fully firing Dele that’s for sure

Like many non spurs fans I've never really understood what all the fuss was about with Dele. Yes he was annoying and sly which antagonised opposition fans but so was Robbie Savage and he was the epitomy of average.

What else does dele do well? Doesn't score too many so not a box to box type. Not a great tackler or passer. Looks a good athlete tbf so even if he isn't on top form should at least be putting the work in.

The worst thing I can say about him is that I wouldn't swap him for Xhaka.

Look at his stats and performance in his first 2 seasons (3rd season was statistically good although performances dropped) and it’s not hard to see why he was once so highly rated

54 goals and 49 assists in 191 games but yeah he doesn’t do anything.

It was only last season he was poor but that’s because he had hamstring problems.

17/18 where he got moved back in a more CM role than his usual role behind Kane he hit 14 goals and 17 assists that season.

And posting videos to a song about a chit player which was stolen from what we sang about Payet 2 years earlier
----------------------------------------------------------------------

sorry i didn't realise your fans had a trademark on that song
----------------------------------------------------------------------
are you too thick to realise half the clubs in england sing that song for one of their players and 95% of football chants most clubs emulate, Tomkins?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tomkins personally sought permission from Billy Ray Cyrus that only West Ham could use that chant

ok fair enough. didn't realise his early stats were that good. However, are you genuinely saying that the only reason he has regressed is because of his hammy? Loads of players have had worse injuries and come back stronger. Gerrard and Ramsey off the top of my head.

He had 3 injuries on the same hamstring over the 12 months.

But no I think also the stuff away from football made him take his eye of the game and maybe abit of thinking he’s made it and stopped putting 100% into his football.

He’s now in a very important 12/18 months of his career. He either gets back to what he was or he stalls and begins the journey many talents young players take where the start to drop down.

At this moment I can’t tell what way it’ll go.

Thing is that players these days are so well paid that the incentive to push yourself that little bit harder has to come from within. The threat of say banishing him to the reserves or selling him holds little power these days as he is so wealthy. It is all about whether he wants it enough.

Been ages since he’s really been at it. That coupled with Eriksen losing interest is a big problem. When Sissoko is your best midfielder you know things are a bit shaky.

Another clueless idiot.

I think he's bang on actually...unless you can explain why he's not
You should be starting Moura every game as a minimum, & sell rubbish like Dier & Wanyama

posted on 29/10/19

We tried to offload Wanyama and it's quite clear that Dier isn't in the plans at the moment.

Moura isn't as good as is made out by some outstanding contributions.
