Next manager

Hello.

I wont cover old ground now, but its looking likely its when and not if for Emery to be sacked. My guess would be he has the Liverpool LC, Wolves at home and Leicester away games before an international break when he will likely be sacked pending results from those games.

Anyway, like most I have been thinking who should replace him, and wanted to gauge others opinions.I listened to arsecast extra and James and Andrew both seemed happy to go with Arteta!

So who would you choose and why?

Notable candidates (in an ideal world)

Arteta
Freddie
Alegri
Mourinho
Ten Hag
Vieria
Rodgers
Nagelsmann
Howe

Who would you go with? (don’t have to be from the list above!)

If we're going to go down the ex-players route and gamble it has to be Henry in my opinion.

I think arrogance is required, we have kids and overpaid babies, need someone who's not afraid to pick their own captain for example.

I mean, you either want a Manager or not.. The clue is in the name... Pick someone who's too weak and the players will be virtually managing the team.

Freddie isn't a legend...Since when? Dunno where you got that idea mate but Ljunberg holds Legend status right alongside the names you mentioned. He was a cracking player but his approach and the hair etc. Team's character, the team's heart, was personified in/by him.

Freddie's not a legend I dunno, you youngsters today. What next "Bergkamp weren't all that"??

Henry is a tricky one. I don't think he's at all ready for the top job yet. Freddie is best pick of former players as he's the one with the most experience of the players he has to work with right now. Knowing the players are already and having a working relationship, means he can hit the ground running, even if he's not quite ready. At this point Freddie's inside knowledge is worth more than anything the others could bring to the table. In practical terms he's the least likely to fail.

Freddie contributed nothing to the club in comparison to true legends like Adams, Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Pires... No offence to him or you but I don't think that's really up for debate.

Henry almost got Monaco relegated, no thanks, I would give Freddie a chance until summer.

I did like Freddie as a player though he turned out to be a bit of a gem. Preferred his red/pink spiky hair to the blue though
