A few quotes from this morning. I am liking what I heard (other than the injuries).
On three wins in a row:
“Sometimes you get the luck with the dice, sometimes you don't, and the game (at Chelsea) was decided by an unbelievable strike by Marcus Rashford.
“But in Belgrade we defended really well and at Norwich I think that was a good game. The confidence is getting better and players coming back from injury helps."
Change of system
“The international break came at a great time for us. We did some work, prepared for the Liverpool game, and when you get a decent performance and result against the league leaders it gives you more energy and from then on the boys have been happy with the work we've done.
“Maybe the change of system has helped and the coaches have done a great job."
On McT:
“Scotty has been excellent. He’s a leader, he’s a Manchester United boy and you can tell he used to be a striker with the goal he scored against Norwich on the half-turn. He’s developing into a very good midfielder."
On Rashy:
“Since Anthony (Martial) has come back, Marcus has flourished. He's probably happier facing goal and being direct, driving at people, taking players on rather than being a target man with his back to goal. [No shiiiiiit, Ole. Glad you’ve worked that one out.]
"But he's only just turned 22 and he wants to master all the skills in the end. I’m sure we’ll see more of him up front as a (number) nine, in a two with Anthony (Martial), in a three like he did at Norwich or out wide as he did at Chelsea. But it was important for me that he stepped up and took that penalty at Chelsea."
*Injuries*
Pogba, Tuanzebe, Matic and Shaw won’t be ready. Maguire, Lindelof and Rashford to be assessed before we travel.
The return of RoJones at the back?...

We won’t sell Pogba in January.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We're just as likely to see him sign a new bumper deal IMO.

Pogba is to Mourinho as Fellaini is to Moyes.

"Still a bit of dead wood to shift, but we have made a good start in that respect. What we really need within those signings is another leader"
Agree, a leader in the middle of the park would be huge for us.

McT could be the man for that. He'd be a damn sight better than pogba at it..

Diafol, I don’t see that happening but I’d be less shocked than if he were to be sold in January.

I'd be amazed if we sold in January. Because of two things really.
1. Because I don't think we'd want to get rid of our main marketing tool.
2. Because if we did sell him I'd expect that there would be a major player or two lined up already. That would be pushing it in terms of credibility I think!

I'd say more likely. No one wants him at the price that we'd sell. No one as we saw in summer. But then it would be rank stupidity to reward him with a new bumper pay rise.
And given who would make that decision, it's almost guaranteed to happen. It's the stupid thing to do, so ed will be all over it

I think a lot of people get caught up on the 4231 vs 433 formation.
They're essentially the same and it's much more about instruction with and without the ball. Many sides play 433 with the ball, and 451 without for example.

I've been reading this more and more, and they really, really aren't.

4231 is still a three in the middle though, just that two are holding and one has more freedom.
That said, I'm sure we can all agree he should play in the advanced role.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It really, really isn't at all. Particularly under Ole.
We have been playing:
4
2
3
1
There's an absolute gulf between our DMs and the supporting line. The number ten isn't close to being a midfielder. Not even close.
It's one of the - if no *the* - biggest issues with our football this season.
