Smalling , Jones and Bailly

Tough , physical and never get bullied.

Sharp contrast to Lindelof and Maguire who both seem to get physically dominated by opposing forwards.

What on Earth Ole sees in this partnership that clearly hasn't worked is beyond me

I know Smalling is out on loan in Rome but that's part of my point too. He sent him away and put his trust on fecking Lindelof

AWB is another one of our defenders who come across as being rather soft , as illustrated in the Bournemouth goal yesterday.

Jaap Stam , Vidic , Rio and even saint Patrick must be rather ashamed of this current Man United backline.

Absolute nonsense..AWB has been one of our best players this season and made very few mistakes and Maguire last few weeks has made the odd error but not really seen anyone bully him

No one has bullied Maguire. What is this idiot on about.!

Maguire has the one issue we all knew he had. A lack
of pace.

Having now looked to see who the OP is I am not surprised of the idiocy.

Strange article, AWB has been getting the better of most of his opponents this season and last. It was a mistake yesterday, doesn’t mean that’s been his entire season though.

Never get a full season out of them either because they’re made of glass, well, two of them anyway, who needs opposition players injuring them when they can do it to themselves

We have to make do with the defenders we have. Smalling going out on loan to Roma is now out of our control.

However, two out of the 3 CBs you mention in your OP are injury prone. Bailly isn't too far behind neither - not including his current long term injury lay off.

In a brief analysis of the three. Jones does have moments of error lapses and can cost us a goal. Smalling is the better calmer player out of the three but not great. Bailly has liabilities but can be good at times.

That leaves us with Lindeloff, Maguire, and Tuanzebe.
Out of these three, i'd prefer a partnership of Tuanzebe and Maguire. As a pairing they play with more reassurance. Maguire is great in the air and usually has that composure and leadership in defence. Pace isn't one of Maguire's top skill sets sadly. Tuanzebe is still young (maybe Ole prefers the experience over age at this moment in time) but offers that stability that seems to be better than Lindeloff. He has a good understanding of defence at his young age.

AWB - i'm confused as to why you have put a mark down on him? He has been consistently good for us so far this season. He's been a breath of fresh air for us down the right back slot. It's reassuring to have someone consistently good in an area we've been lacking at times prior to his arrival.

Defensively he is sound, but i guess he could contribute a little more to attack and add that goal threat to his offensive game. But it's been a good start to his debut season for us so far.

I'm always pleased to see his name on the starting line up.

I personally don't think he could have done much to stop King from scoring that goal yesterday. And it was good worked goal from him too.

What gave me away?

I have actually seen you make the odd decent post but this one is mostly kak.

You do have a point about Maguire and Lindelof being a crap partnership. That is because Lindelof is utterly $hite and shouldn't be at United.

Awb bullied?
It is difficult to defend from that angle when you're behind a striker, in the box... Due to the risk of giving penalties away.

What was more funny was lindeloff just staring at it all happening from the front.
Lindeloff is meant to be the experienced one. He shows as much experience as a .. well.... player with no experience.

Also it should really be the CB in that situation defending, what was AWB even doing there?
Covering for our terrible CB probably.
