VAR.

It’s been a right bloody shambles hasn’t it?

Thoughts?

Yeah all the criticism and attention should be directed at the officials. This is a good chance to do that IMO. How are they so crap even with VAR. Perhaps they should all be sacked and we can start afresh.

Cara on Sky for a start said that though he thinks we were right to give VAR a try the way its being handled has made him change his mind and he thinks it should be scrapped. Personally as I said I think it needs an overhaul aimed at the actual game and not at upsetting fans at the match.
Instead of having phases in a game that reflect an incident have a time limit if a goal is scored. If plays continued for 20 secs that's as far back as you can go. This then means no matter where a foul, handball etc occurs on the pitch we have a definite rather than a maybe or even a definite maybe cut off point between the incident and the goal no matter how unfair it sounds we all abide by the same rule.

Again the implementation seems to be the issue. It doesn't seem to have caused as much controversy in the CL or WC (a little bit but not as much) so why can the PL simply not implement it in the same way? failing that 2 reviews per game per side, so let the managers decide when it's used. If you need more than two then you are having some really bad luck.

I’d say captains rather than managers. Also dump the stupid handball rule, fix the offside nonsense, and for feck sake let the fans in the stadium know what is going on. It reached rock bottom yesterday in the Spurs game when they reviewed the review.
