Bus welcome

I see there's been a rallying call on social media by some Liverpool fans to give another welcome to the City team bus on Sunday.

If it happens again, and the police and FA does nothing about it, then they will be sending a very bad message to the footballing world.

I hope the decent Liverpool fans step and stop this madness.

“but at no point was there any reason for you to think that it hadn't happened before then”

Okay, not sure why you said this.

Anyway, I asked how often this happens because I was genuinely interested. It seems, from what you’ve said, it’s only happened 5-10 times.

My point is that if it’s been that few, then it’s not really correct to suggest it’s a one off because there’s every chance it could happen again and again in certain circumstances.

It may not of course, but going back to my original view, I just think the whole thing is asking for trouble.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I know you were genuinely interested no problem with that at all. I'd once again point out that considering it has happened a fair few times and there has been pretty much zero issue, concerns are unfounded at this point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I just don’t agree.

If it were one incident out of hundreds of times then fair enough - but one out of 5-10?

I think it’s a risk myself. But just an opinion of course.

Any kind of gathering with thousands of people in attendance holds a risk. Let's be honest here too, the incident in question was hardly serious.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Agreed, but if you’re getting football fans together (we’ll known for thuggish behaviour) on the premise of intimidating opponents, I think it brightens the chances of trouble.

Another thread given the old Winstonian Greatbore treatment
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not really. How old are you these days by the way, it was about 57 a few years ago when you used to troll threads. You hit 60 yet?
---------------------------------------------------------------

No trolling, just pointing out yours and Winston's relentless, tedious petty thread ruining

I think that if you asked a club who hadn't done this numerous times and asked them to meet before to create an atmosphere, you'd be right. This is a pretty standard and established thing with us though. There will be flares and smoke and singing but I feel there is a level of awareness too. Think what happened to the united bus at west ham not long ago when it was delayed and had to get through the crowds. That was far more volatile due to it not being a pre planned thing.

Fair enough.
