Good performance from the team

last night, they seem to save their better performances for the European Nights. I must admit when I saw the defence selected, I thought there was no way it would keep a clean sheet, but fair play, they all played pretty well, Dier I thought did not look out of place partnering Sanchez, maybe this could be the way forward, although Red Star with their few attacks could have had a couple.

Looks like there is no way back for Toby and Verts as a partnership any more, Sanchez has cemented the number one CB spot for himself, just a matter of whom partners him. Foyth played well last night, and if Sessignon could make the left back spot his own, would have a new and enthusiastic pair of full backs going forward. Obvious that Foyth, Sanchez and Sessignon are the future now, and the manager needs to stick with them.

Midfield looked excellent last night, both N`dombele and Lo Celso were excellent, gave Dele more space, and he upped his game. No more of the turgid sideways rubbish you get with a Sissoko/Winks partnership. The team always looked to be playing forward last night. Kane looked good, and Son was sharp.

Need to carry this forward now into the next month, before we can see if a corner has really been turned.

I would start the same team versus Sheffield United, nothing to lose, and it would break the ridiculous 93 game run of not once playing an unchanged side.

For only the second or third time this season, I am reasonably happy this morning. COYS.

Think we need a proper DM.

one of these and a new back 4 away from being around the top of the league again

Sissoko has been great this last year but he does need long term replacing with a proper DM, back 4 is a bit of a mess, Dier and Sanchez did well yesterday but feel they'll be a sh111tshow when they come up to a real challenge. Foyth is promising for me at RB.

Foyth has the technical ability to play in a more forward position but he's so painfully slow.

faster than Davies

I think pairing N’Dombele & Sissoko works very well, allied to the obvious skills of GLC, its a strong middle of the park.

The back line was caught out a couple of times, but considering this was their first outing as a back 4, I think it looks promising

Yup the midfield looked very fluid and creative last night. Always looking to go forwards, rather than backwards.

One swallow doth not make a summer. He is not getting back in my good books off the back of one game.

Midfield was good. Attack was good, esp. Son.
But not that happy with the back lot.
Red Star could have scored a couple, I'd say they were a mite unlucky.
Foyth is not a very strong guy, can get muscled off the ball.
Sanchez hd a good game, but remember the opposition was not great. Lets see how he does against a real attack!
