Our league record without Auba would look as follows
Pld: 11
W: 1
D: 4
L: 6
Pts: 7
GF: 8
GD: -7
Pos: 18th
For comparison here is out current league record WITH Auba
Pld : 11
W: 4
D: 5
L: 2
Pts: 17
GF: 16
GD: +1
Pos: 5
Results with/without Auba’s goals are as follows
Newcastle: 1-0/0-0 ,w/d (1 goal
Burnley: 2-1/1-1 , w/d (1 goal)
Spurs: 2-2/1-2 , d/l. (1 goal)
Watford: 2-2/0-2 , d/l (2 goals)
Aston Villa: 3-2/2-2 , w/d (1 goal)
Man Utd: 1-1/0-1 , d/l (1 goal)
Wolves: 1-1/0-1 , d/l. (1 goal)
The only game we won without Auba scoring was against Bournemouth
So to sum up Auba has got us TEN extra points EIGHT extra goals and boosted our league position by THIRTEEN places and we only be ahead of Norwich on goal difference
We’d be 18th without Auba’s Goals

That's because you'd be playing with 10 men

Just read above comments. These stats are pointless. It could be said of any decent forward in a team.

He has a point though...this is a pretty extreme example...you are only winning by the odd margin when you do...we've been in this position with Costa before, whereas now we have many scoring options...nice position to be in
What's Lacazette doing during this time BTW...not nearly enough possibly

Pretty sure you'd win some games without him with someone else in his place. We've managed to do that with Kane out.
It's such a flawed premise theorising that you'd drop all the points that a top striker has given if they hadn't been playing. Hell, even with the 10 men you might have still won some of the games.

This is a groundbreaking article. You have clearly shown a top striker wins you games. I would never have thought that. Thank you

Laca..........2
Luiz.............2
Sokratis......1
Chambers..1

Make fun of the OP all you want, but those are some depressing stats.
Imagine having to rely on our back 4 for goals should Auba get injured.

whats depressing about the fact that our striker is prolific? that's a great thing, and why would we rely on our back line for goals?

It is like all those years of hearing we would be relegated without Ian Wrights goals. Then the first season his impact is minimised (11 goals all season) we do the double

I'm still waiting for one of the big clubs to get relegated when they lose their best player. It never happened to us when we lost Bale and we couldn't have relied on him any more than we did.
