FOREST v DERBY CITY - Match Thread

Forget, bragging rights, forget any kind of form, forget the 3:0 Carabao Cup win, this is the one that counts - this game is all about the 3 points

I just hope Forest can put in a performance like they did against Derby earlier on in the season.

On paper, it should be a home win, but we all know, this type of game is anything but predictable

Forest, after a few dodgy result, got back to winning way last week to help steady the ship, but if we’re totally honest, we‘re still not a totally convincing outfit, even though we seem to be much stronger that previous seasons

Derby, are also a mixed bag, and haven’t really hit any kind of consistent form yet this season - but they’ve proved they can get results if the right team turn up

This game could be a turning point for both Clubs depending on the result who are both looking to stake claim in the Promotion race

I just hope Forest will be in the front foot from the off and look to overwhelm Derby from the start like they did in the Cup game ever in the season

It won’t be easy though, and Derby will be a lot tougher and more prepared this time around

Forest will need to be patient, focused and very disciplined, as these games can easily become emotionally charged - if the manager has the team in the right frame of mind, and we approach the game as a team, then the 3 points are there form the taking

It won’t make or break our season, but it could be a massive result for us if we get the 3 points - here’s hoping people

International break will hopefully see a fully fit Dawson back in time for Bristol City, although the defence of late have been brilliant

Maybe Sow and Semedo too pushing for a place

It’s so comforting to have quality and depth in the squad - I’m sure it’ll pay off over the course of the season

Any more news on Jenkinson?

Jenkinson should be back in training next week so pretty much everyone, bar Darikwa is there or thereabouts. Cash is the man of the moment so I think Jenkinson will have to be patient. Some tough decisions for Lamouchi for Ashton Gate.

I’d be happy with a point at Bristol, but the way Forest have set up and played their ‘big’ games away from home this season, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we went there and got all 3 points

Silva is on fire at the moment. Once Forest settled down and got the ball on the floor to him, he ran the game yesterday.

What’s different this season is we seem to be beating the lower teams this season, Stoke, Barnsley, Luton and now Derby.

Years gone by these have tripped us up.

True Strett. But what is also true is that we have had a number of medium/long term injuries to several players who would be in the match day squad yet we are still where we are and with a home game in hand.

It could still go wrong (it is the Championship after all), but for me the glass is 3/4 full not a 1/4 empty. It will be topped up in January.

Yes, could have really struggled when the injuries have bitten over the last six weeks but seem to have taken it in their stride. The players really seem to be buying into Lamouchi’s philosophy. Have also had a bit of luck, such as Bogle’s brain melt yesterday, to help them on their way too.

Yes Will, and without any assistance financial or otherwise being asked from the club I understand. Apart from access to set up and rehearse.

It would be good if any readers of this board could visit their website and make a purchase or small donation if they felt able.
