Pochettino was only ever any

good as the Spurs manager over the past few years when he had this team playing at its peak.

Lloris
Walker
Toby
Verts
Rose
Dier
Dembele
Eriksen
Dele
Son
Kane

If he had to make any changes, say in domestic cups or even in European games, he invariably fell short. He was only ever as good as that peak 11, if more than a couple were missing he never had a Plan B, even in the good times.

His domestic cup competition record was pretty poor, when he had to rotate and make changes to that set in stone team. Very rarely progressed in the domestic cups, his FA Cup record is pretty poor, and even his European record is pretty poor, last season aside, failed to get out of the group stages of one of the easiest CL groups ever two or three years back, his Europa League record is also very poor.

He seems absolutely incapable of managing a squad to play more than one game a week, and was only successful when he was able to field his very best XI, make any changes to that, he had neither the nous or the management skills to adjust with one or two changes. Good managers should be able to manage a whole squad, not just a set in stone eleven players.

Now that Walker and Dembele have departed, Toby, Verts and Rose are getting past it, Dier, Eriksen and Dele are backwards, and Kane is not the player he was even two seasons back, he is in major trouble. Not able to rectify the slide that has been going on for nine months now.

He won`t turn it around, because he is incapable of doing it without the very best players, most of which he inherited when he came to the club. Without the tools, he simply is not good enough to build a side capable of at least competing for a Top Four place and playing some decent footie. He is being found out now big time, and things are if anything only going to get worse, whilst he as at the helm.

A fresh face is needed, a manager with new ideas, his own philosophy, a manager that can play good attractive football, without breaking the bank, a manager that does not make excuses about lack of funds, but makes the most of what he has at his disposal.

Surely that is not to much to ask, is it?

Sandy, who do you want in and what would you expect from then this year and the next few years?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not bothered who comes, but change has to happen. And under a new manager, at the very least a league cup, and a chance to play CL again in the next five years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty low expectations sandy, 1 league Cup and 1 top 4 finish in the next 5 years? Considering Poch has achieved much more than that in his 5 years (4 top 4 finishes and leading us to our first ever champions league final
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And won absolutely nothing. In 50 years time Pochettino will not even get a mention by Spurs supporters if he aint won a trophy. After all who remembers Jimmy Anderson, he also got Spurs two or three top three places back in the 1950s, but I doubt anybody on the forum knows him, other than me.

Well obviously we would have to get out of the Championship first to challenge for a Top Four Place.

Jimmy Anderson is England's leading test wicket taker, but he has never won a trophy. I will remember Michael Yardy more fondly as he was part of the 2010 t20 winners

sandy you are relentless with these anti poch articles mate. give yourself a break
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Need to keep it up, and you yourself have hardly been a shrinking violet moaning about results and performances.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and rightly so.. the 2019 results and performances have been totally unacceptable... and all in all if you include flights and accommodation in madrid and Amsterdam plus season ticket price it has probably cost me a good 5 grand to watch the nonsense. i am completely within my right to have a massive moan.

but i always remain fair about the club. poch has credit in the bank, but hes using it all up quickly. mid life crisis spending spree

Moan away.

It makes zero difference.
