Robbo not training regularly

Andy Robertson has talked about his niggling injury and how he’s only training the day before a game. I mentioned it in an article yesterday that we tend to not train many players at a time or they are given different treatment and training techniques away from the rest of the squad

Robertson -

- "For the last two and a half weeks I’ve not trained at all for Liverpool. I’ve trained the day before a game, missed a Champions League game other than the last 15 minutes against Genk and missed Arsenal in the League Cup."

With the ridiculous December fixture list coming up I really think it’s time to rotate more. We can’t keep playing the same 11 every game. We’ve now got Ox and Naby back and I’m thinking we should utilise Milner and Gomez more and let Robbo and TAA rest more. They are vital for us in big games

Testing these two would mean a change in style needed as I can’t see Milner and Gomez producing the assists those two do.

With Ox and Naby we have more adventurous midfielders which would stop us heavily relying on the 2 young full backs.

It will be interesting to see how Klopp plays out the ridiculous December fixture list and what formations he plays

We’ve got Brighton, Bournemouth, Watford and West Ham coming up oh and that lot from across the park. I think these are the type of games to mix it up.

Thoughts?

I'd be against playing under 18's and so on, just for squad consistency which is going to be hard enough given the LC and CWC but if players are in the red then they need to be rested.

Tbf Klopp wraps them up in cotton wool. Any hint of a strain and they come off. You'll get a lot of oppo fans talking about luck but it really isn't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It is a bit of luck though.

I totally get your point. Fitness diet, "preactivations" and all sorts of science goes into the fitness of our squad.

But luck does come into it. Salah caught his ankle in a good challenge v city, just turned in the turf. He limped about imo for 60 mins. He's now out for egypt not us. thats luck.

Anyone can be given a kick at any time and be out. you can be pushed into a barrier. you can slip on the turf and stretch your groin. You can make a tackle and rip your ligaments.

Yes the risks can be minimised but they are never zero. Luck gets you through the residual risks.

Luck can see the reserve take the hit not your star etc etc.

Shaq is injured right? Don't think it is discipline.

We are told so.

It drags on to a point where we no longer know.

Theres the clyne thing which conspiracy nuts love. How could he be in the team photo with a knee cut open etc etc.

Shaq was said to be in switzerland for treatment. SO people think hang on.... we can treat a muscle injury just fine thanks. whats going on.

and yet another conspiracy theory starts.

MY comment above on shaq is based on how little game time he's got from klopp. thats imo trust.

I think we're fine squad wise tbh. Yeah losing arguably the best left back in foitball for any great length of time would not be ideal but rotating him wont be a problem.

Glad the weak squad chat has died down tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Never had a weak squad, did miss a chance to strengthen a great squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which is why I am glad the weak squad chat has died down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its not a weak squad, but its considerably weaker than Cities and standing still wasnt good, not even past december yet so i wouldnt be too glad...

As I saud at the time City have greater depth up top, we've greater depth at the back.

How's it working out?

So that your hypothesis then? I heard he was on the beak, so was Clyne.

I suspect that Robbo is pulling a Giggs and really isn't that injured, but has to say something because he's not in the Scotland squad.

I'm alright with him doing so. I'm sure there will be some Scots that won't be happy with it though. As long as he rests his legs it'll pay off for us.

thats the thing.

We've all heard it yeah?

The clyne stuff is very clear but we cant really believe the club would get away with 2.5 years of player who fails drugs tests not being "available" for testing externally. there's cleaner ways to deal with it than cost yourself so much money and then taking the risk to first play him in games in December and then loan him out last season from january.

Other clubs would have been open and sacked him then sued him to bankruptcy.

I just don't know.

But when you add 2 and 2 sometimes you get 4 but often what looks like a 2 isn't a 2 and you get 6 or 8 or 12.. We just know that shaqiri is out. the other 2 is why is he out and do you believe the club or not.

He first dropped himself for switzerland then didn't get a game off us then was available for switzerland but then injured etc etc.
