Growing boardroom disunity

Arseblog submits that there's something of a rift growing in the boardroom following the O'Leary issue, with Raul and Kroenke on one side and Keswick et.al on the other...

Is there anything to be worried about in terms of how it affects the way in which the club ends up being managed or is this something completely removed from what ends up happening on the field?

When it rains, right?**

**if there's any truth in this.

Some of us were too young to appreciate O'Leary when he was at the club. But I've heard nothing but good things about him from the old timers.

On the face of it, bringing a "football man" into the board would make for a very welcome change. But one fact still remains. With Silent Stan still holding all the equity, we'd simply be adding yet another powerless "yes man" to the equation.

But it's still better than nothing, I guess. The board's altogether condescending attitude toward the fanbase would probably sound better coming from O'Leary instead of some posh geezer born during the War.

I hope the press get to run with this story. I don't even care if it's true or not. Anything to draw attention away from the poisonous wall-to-wall coverage of the players at the moment.

Sod the boardroom, let O'Leary replace Emery.

To be honest I dont see how adding a football man to the board will help. Is a football club and they should all be football men.

To look at it from the other side, Im not sure joining a sinking ship would be the best career choice for O'Leary, unless he has real power like being able to recommend a change of manager.

The issue is more about the fact that there appears to be growing disunity than the minutiae of who's on the board. The question has been raised as to whether, in this new ownership structure, a board is needed... if so, if Don Raul consolidating his power and easing / edging the old guard out? If it isn't, who they want on this unnecessary board is a moot point.

But it looks like the reigns of power are shifting. I just hope that wherever we go, it's in a positive direction.
