Jose

Compare that with Kane, Son, Dele, Eriksen, Ndombele etc?

Is a comment on a previous thread

Add verts and Toby to that and you got a brilliant spine
Jose would have looked at that

Reckon Jose might be just what you need.

For spurs to land Jose is a massive coup. I don't think levy would have made that decision lightly

With arsenal and united 3 years from challenging with very poor squads and awful managers and it being likely peps last season there is an opportunity fro the likes of Chelsea and spurs even liecester to infiltrate the challenging teams.

The kick of it will be if levy allows Jose to spend what he wants

all 3 of them off in the summer. maybe Levy is daft enough to see this appointment as a way of turning their heads to sign extentions. doubt it though.

I think he saw that with the squad we have, may be some on the longer contracts would not tolerate a massive rebuild with a high risk young manager.

Jose can 100% work with what we have. Compared to United we have very good CBs, several DMs including Dier who Jose wanted at Utd, quality attacking options including a strong No.9 and a range of options in the CM.

Jose has said we do not need to spend big to improve and i believe this. Next year if we lose Toby Verts (think he'll stay) Eriksen & Rose then may be some big spending required.

Spot on, OP

Your last comment is also the telltale sign whether this relationship between a miser like Levy and a serial spender like Jose can work together.

But this is the era of football when clubs spend big to "buy" glory. Just look at the top 2 of the league.

Maybe, the baldy has to learn to let loose of his purse strings a bit?

The shocker !

We didn't spend anything last summer and bought wisely after a huge sale the previous year. And have Leicester spent that much?

The more I think of it, the more I believe Jose didn't sign the contract on the basis of funds made available but for the squad as it currently stands. I think he's hoping to change the minds of Eriksen, Toby, Verts and Rose. If he manages it, then he has a squad of players he's previously been desperate for in other roles. He's always liked strong physical players and we definitely have that but I worry about what this means for players like Parrott or other academy boys.

Eriksen, Toby, Verts will all sign new deals and we will sign Fernandes, Dybala, Matic and Maicon in January

We're going to go from signing loads of Argentinians to loads of Portuguese

Maicon today would be better than Aurier
