Midfield dilemma

With the news McTominay out for a couple of weeks and Pogba a few weeks away it is going to be even tougher on Sunday.
Shocking really that we are going into a game against Sheffield United and I am not expecting a win. This is precisely the games this season where we struggle, Shef Utd are massively difficult to break down, McTominay is just the player we need in these games in what is going to be a real physical battle.

What an earth is going to be our midfield? Will Garner get his first start? Or will Ole drop back Perreira alongside Fred and have Mata or Lingard just ahead. Either way it is going to be an actual shocker of a midfield and slightly concerning.

If all are fit I'd go

DDG

AWB
Maguire
Rojo
Williams

Tuanzebe
Fred
Pereira

James
Martial
Rashford

Against a physical Sheff Utd side I'd rather Rojo in the back four than Lindelof in truth. I expect Young to come in at LB but I'd like to see Williams there for his willingness and energy to go forward.

Rojo is out and Tuanzebe has only just returned to training this week so unfit

Forgot Rojo was out. I'd rather Tuanzebe there than Matic though to be honest even if he has only come back. On MUFC app is says that McT is still a 'doubt' so I suppose he could play. This could just be a game where we hope that the front players do their thing. Who knows an early goal and it could be easier than we think. Especially if Sheff Utd come out a bit more because they fancy their chances.

Yes first goal is massively important in this one. They get it and there is no chance we are winning. Likewise if we get it they aren't coming back to win

Jones and Carrick midfield pair.

I think we’ll see McT rushed back.

If not, Pereira joins Fred in midfield, and Mata joins the attack.

"We hope to see Pogba in 2019"

Ffs. That's him out till 2021 at the earliest.

We're always in a state of crisis in one position or another, I'm used to fielding sides way under strength these days.

Sheff Utd is a tough game, Liverpool and Arsenal both struggled there.

play Garner. If they are good enough then they are old enough!

Maybe he just wants to be fit and ready for a Jan move.

Its the strikers that are the issue. Will they fancy an away game or go into hiding. Our main issues away from home is we concede more goals than expected and score less goals than expected. We are one of the best teams in PL history for allowing few chances against us away from home.

We should really go on an away winning run to balance out bad luck. Surely we can’t break a PL record for the most unluckiest season?

I reckon Solskjaer must be thinking if he was playing we would be in a title race. Its strange our away form since March has been dreadful but statistically its like the best in our history performances wise. Football is strange like that. I honestly won’t be surprised if we hit a team for 7 or 8 this season.

Its obvious how Sheffield United will play. They will park the bus and wait for 1 or 2 isolated counters. Man Utd need to take chances otherwise it could be another game we don’t win we expected to win. Reckon Sheffield United 0-4 Manchester United. We are due an efficient game. We only had 1 efficient game and that was our 4-0 win against Chelsea.
