Two instant Jose impacts

1. We weren’t pushing up nearly as far and so not as vulnerable - at least not for 70 minutes
2. Kane didn’t drop back as much, and was more “physical and nasty" not quite full on Costa or Drogba, but I’ve always thought he’s a bit too nice at times

Nice piece in tactics

We will do well under Jose. He has something to prove, and he’s at the right club.

He has always done better at clubs starved of success. United job was one he couldn't turn down and the problems there were deeper than the manager as shown by the managers that fell before him as well.

I got bored and switched off... a whole lotta hoooof

Mourinho is turning on the charm. Don't be gullible and fall for it. As soon as the heats turned up he will be scapegoating, using the media to hang the players out to dry and blaming anyone but himself.

Meanwhile your team will be playing Jose's patented turgid neanderball.

An early bounce is to be expected. As is the shambolic meltdown. Deep down I'm guessing a lot of you already know this.

All Jose done yesterday is what most clubs have been doing for years it was crazy the way we let BOTH fullbacks go forward like we did and to virtually concede the space out wide that we did regularly in the past.

As for stopping the ridiculous passes around our own penalty area I have been moaning about that for months all it does it give teams the chance to organise their defence to face the next attack.

Not saying that we should go long ball but there is a big difference in passing the ball around our area for 10 minutes and getting the ball forwards after 2 or 3 passes in 60 seconds.

Having said that it was no master class from Jose yesterday it was just plain common sense IMO

Moura was class. Why poch didn't start him still baffles me.

he wasnt great saturday and isnt the majority of times he starts tbh. Jose will like him though and hopefully we see more consistency from him.

Did you think, I thought most of what you done well him and alli were involved in. They take defenders away from each other and the whole dynamic looks more fluid and offensive. He breaks between the lines well too imo.

He's also played 90 minutes 4 times this season and not started 2 games on the trot. Bit harsh to expect consistency.
