Don’t worry, everything’s fine...

We’re widely reported to be closing in on a world record shirt sponsorship deal with Chinese consumer electronics company Haier.

Complete mismanagement of sporting affairs and underachievement on the pitch isn’t a problem lads, you can breathe easily again.

Which is impressive considering how much sh-tter we’ve become since that last deal was done.

But it won’t be long until City overtake us in terms of income. Will be interesting to see how we’re persisted as a ‘big’ club to sponsors over the next several years if we continue to be crap. Football fans these days are fickle and don’t really care about history.

Pretty sure Chevy pay us close to this anyway, not much on an increase when you consider how kid deals are growing all the time.

Liverpool just agreed a £90m a season deal, £20m more than ours.

Nope; Liverpool are paid £40m per year or thereabouts by SC, £30m per year less than Haier are supposedly offering us.

You are thinking about Liverpool’s new kit deal with Nike, which I believe has been reported to be just over our current US$70m per year or thereabouts.

I've read it'll be £90m a year with Nike and for only 5 years.

Ours is £70m and we were tied down for 10. Obviously their on the field performances will contribute to that.

Also, Nike’s is a kit supplier deal, not shirt sponsor. 2 different things.

as mu1982 said, the Nike meal is supplier not sponsor.

also nikes deal with Liverpool is only guaranteed 30m a year with 20% royalties on kit sales

Tbf to the club, I think the idea of all these weird sponsors, (noodles, tractors, oil, tyres etc) is so we're not overly reliant on Champions League money to buy players and pay wages.

Obviously not being in the competition earns us less per year but we've still been able to spend H U G E sums of money on players despite missing out on CL football in what? Three (going on four) out of the last six (going on seven) seasons.

We’re clearly going after the incredibly lucrative East Asian farm machinery mechanic market.

As predicted, it’s gone up. There was actually a few getting a hard on because they thought Chevrolet pulling the plug would lead to the Glazers selling.
