His record before Arsenal is good. He is just paying for poor defensive recruitment. How was luiz going to improve things?

No it wasn't, I think the success for the 3 Euro cups at Sevillia blinded things, but his league form was atrocious.

At Valencia he had a pretty good team there but the same thing which is happening with us happened there, (I'm getting a lot of "told you so" from my Valencian friends"

But I didn't think he would be this bad though

Not necessarily. Most / A lot of Arsenal fans were expecting Arteta when Emery was announced. And most of the reaction appeared to be "he's won 3 EL Cups... he just came off the back of PSG... don't know that much else so... okay". What has borne out over the last one and a bit seasons is a better understanding of who Unai Emery is and it's not great.

I forgot about his poor league form at Sevilla. It's repeated itself at arsenal with you getting to the Europa final but still poor in the league.
