Aaron Ramsey

The pizz take article below got me thinking about our former player

Has anyone been keeping tabs on him since his move to Juventus?
And if so how's he done so far?

I've always thought his career was partly ruined by that horror tackle in 2010. While he's still done very well in many ways but IMO we never got to see close to his true potential because of it.

At the time he left (while it would've been preferential to keep him over utter dross like Xhaka) it never struck me as much of a loss but should he prove to be a top player while at a better run club like Juve then I'll happily eat my words.

Been injured most of it. Looked good when he has played though.

I don't think most fans ever questioned Ramsey's talent after he got over the hollywood stuff. Just his consistency. Thats why his demands were unjustifiable.

Jenius with Mesut Ozil getting paid 350k a week to disappear game in game out. Yes Ramsey's demands were more than justifiable. We made a rod for our own backs betting on the dud that's Ozil. You can't ask other players who contribute 100% to accept 100k a week when we pay Ozil 350k for giving 70%

YOU wouldn't put up with some lazy, good for nothing, dude at work doing the same job as you, at the same company level, getting paid 3 times the salary you did. Especially when you worked twice as hard and had been there 3 times longer. So you have no place demanding that of Ramsey. His demands were justified by Ozil's salary for dire performances.

AFC has suffered and will be suffering, for signing that contract with Ozil for quite some time to come. Worse decision than Xhaka for captain

OP you've only gotta look at the results since his injury twoward the end of last season, to see how big a loss it actually was. I'm shocked how many thought it'd be no biggy. I was sure it was a bad idea to let him go when he wanted to stay. And I knew we were in big trouble when he wasn't like for like replaced during the window.

The club shot the team in one foot committing all that cash to Ozil. Then went and shot it in the other foot by letting Ramsey leave. No surprise said team can't play football right now

Well said WB2, exactly the way I see it too.

Only thing I would say is that whilst Ozil's output is not even worth £100,000/week to us - as much as I liked Ramsey, no one can deny he is very injury prone so to pay him anything close to £300,000 would have been absurd too.

Would have been nothing wrong in cutting Ramsey a 2 year deal citing the injury prone record. I think the difference between us here is that I place a higher value on Ramsey's service than you. It's quite astonishing to see people still refusing to acknowledge how valuable he was to the club at the time we let him go.

We've literally watched the team fall apart without him and people are still blind to the fact we should have just paid to keep him. Whilst believing Ozil should set foot on a pitch for Arsenal ever again. Whilst Arsenal fans are happy to treat players who've served a lifetime the way they have Ramsey. We will struggle to get any player with self respect to sign for the club. Cos we ain't paying wages high enough for people to put up with that kinda contempt from their own fans. Club really has become a disgrace
