Van Dijk - WPOTY?

Sorry but anybody hating is wrong. Best defender in the world at the moment and with him being the centre piece of Liverpool's defence they lost, what, a single league game since the start of LAST season?

The only thing going against him is that attackers always get the credit ahead of defenders and players like Messi are destroying it on the other end which is arguably harder to do.

Boss I agree. Best defender last year however matip actually looked better beginning of the year. Not saying he is better. Vvd was hands down the outstanding defender last year

I love these articles by bitter fans. They can't pick on anything related to our game play as we have only lost 1 game in 2 seasons

In the league we have lost 1 game in 2 seasons.

Oh and he has not been shaky this season. Watch Maguire he is a shaky player. VVD has been exceptional again. We have played a different style which is why we are conceding more this season. he also has not had a fit Gomez or Matip alongfside him this season which he did last season


The likes of Xavi have even said he has been the best in the last 12 months. Only the anti Liverpool brigade say he hasn't and that is because they are blinkered and bitter.

There is no centre back on the planet that comes close to VVD.

Not a wum at all, genuinely think Messi is the best player in the world at the moment.

VVD is the best defender though.

Maldini never won world player of the year. No chance the Liverpool nonce winning it.
