5 games, 4 wins, 10 goals scored, 4 goals conceded, qualified and won our group.
Now, hands up, who thought that when the draw was made?
This European campaign, even more remarkable after the CL exit has been simply phenomenal.
I enjoyed last night, it was nice to sit and just enjoy the game without any nerves and the players seemed to enjoy it too. Rennes are a decent side, nothing great but decent and we took care of them easily whilst missing:
Edouard
Boli
El Hammed
Frimpong
Elyounoussi
Another great evening in Europe under Lennon.
All the talk at the start was the seemingly bizarre decision to stick Lewis Morgan up top. I'd be telling lies if i didn't find it ridiculous but that's why Lennon is manager and i'm 5th from bottom in the predictor league
He was terrific last night and he took his goal very well, constant threat when the ball was played into his feet.
I thought Ntcham was outstanding last night bar a wee 5 minute spell where he decided to stick his boots on the wrong feet and gave it away 4 times in 5 minutes
Defence looked solid enough, even with the changes. I'm not convinced by Taylor but he was ok, nothing great, nothing bad.
Bauer was quietly effective but he's nowhere near El Hammed and Frimpong, the wee man would have had a field day last night but he'll be nice and fresh for Sunday.
Christie got the 2nd goal and i thought he played well, that's his first goal for us in over a month, surprised at that myself but 14 for the season so he's got to be aiming for over 25 goals this season.
Good to see Mikey Johnston back and a wonderful goal to cap it off too.
Now on to Sunday and i doubt Edouard will be risked on Sunday or next Wednesday so it's time for Griffiths to get at least 30 mins on Sunday and then start on Wednesday.

Elyounoussi and Johnston have both outshone Kent so far this season so it's extremely dismissive to leave them out imo.

Remarkably comfy win for us last night ... considering 2 of our best front 3 were missing, we were effectively playing our 3rd choice FBs, and guys like Rogic and Sinclair (who used to be pivotal) weren't even needed off the bench. Fair play to Lenny. After the utter debacle of the Cluj CL exit, he's really turned things around big style. Obviously a long way to go on all fronts this season, but credit where it's due so far.
BTW, Broony's one man mission to get himself carded (and get his suspension out the way in the meaningless 6th game) was just bizarrely comical.
