A chastened Derby attempt to continue their excellent home form after the debacle at Craven Cottage. I say debacle but some say a gritty, thoughtful display where we showed an intelligent disposition, only losing because of three mistakes.
It's infuriating after we saw such a polished display last Saturday which seem to bode well for future games. Back to square one.
Looks like Shinnie will be out for a few months, likewise Mason Bennett except Shinnie will be a miss.
Intrigue surrounds the selection of Roos, a pity as he did have the look of a good 'keeper but in that position you need supreme confidence and unfortunately Kellie's confidence looks totally shot. Not helped by Ito JC cheers from the Faithful. Anyone know what Ben Hamers is like? And if there is a goalmouth scramble and Dwayne end up underneath Hamer, would it be Holmes under the Hamer?
QPR gave just been given a tonking by Notts - surely no team can be that bad again - so will be looking to bounce back. They are lurking around the middle of the table level on points with Derby but they don't have Rooney coaching from the bench.
Team news from Ang with contributions from Heb who may or may not be on auk/cow/thistle watch.
Derby County 1 - 1 QPR

A very frustrating afternoon to be honest. QPR where there for the taking but the slick passing and movement so apparent in recent home game was missing today.
Who’d be a football manager. Losing Beilik in the warm up was a blow. And maybe Martin needed resting, I don’t know but we missed them both.

I hope somebody can give Those of us Who Could Not Attend a rundown of the game. I couldn't make it I'm afraid.

There was a time you'd predict your squad and be a player possibly two out of what the manager selected. Nowadays it's proving much more difficult to predict the squad.
Our formation today should have been deployed Vs Fulham to neutralise their attack. Today we should have gone with our diamond shape considering the success we've had and QPR have had a difficult spell so would be cagey.
Very frustrating and annoying based on what I've heard and read do far. Our injuries are slowly mounting up. Any news on Clarke as I still don't know when he's back + what happened to Bielik and how long is he likely to be out for?

I’ve had a look on the net and that and from July 2016 if a player deliberately feigns in his run up in order to gain an advantage then the defending team should receive an indirect free kick and the penalty taker booked.
Our ref today, a Mr Tw@t from Shepherds Bush, seems to be using an out of date rule book.

Well it least one thing from the match. The mystery of why Marriott hasn't been in the team recently has been solved.
I thought that about penalty taking Rameses and so did Hamer. You could see he was furious.

Desi, you’re right. I thought Cocu was a match behind in his set-up and that the five at the back might have worked better against Fulham. I too thought today was the day to play the diamond. Martin was anonymous the other night but if Marriott is to play then Martin is the best choice alongside him. Without Bielik we lacked presence and once Bogle was asked to move from wingback to some indefinable position he looked completely lost.
Apparently Cocu said Bielik’s issue is a minor one. I hope so. I thought Whittaker showed some promise and Knight looked lively but there were very few positives.
VC, there is a bit of the rose-tinted going on there with Nigel Clough. Hughes, Hendrick and Bryson didn’t appear in Clough’s team until a couple of seasons after he arrived. We had the likes of Theo Robinson, Chris Porter, Robbie Savage and Conor Doyle to enjoy. In Clough’s first full season we just avoided relegation with a couple of games to spare. Eventually he created a decent team but it took years rather than months and he was never able to get us into the play-offs. We had some desperate performances under Clough and he signed some shocking players as well as some very good ones. If Cocu is given a similar amount of understanding and patience from the fans and owner that Clough was given I have no doubt he will surpass his achievements at Derby.

Vidal you might be right, there were some terrible matches when Nige was in charge. But as we know he took over the team when we were in a mess and steadily got rid of the wasters and brought in some decent players for not much money (except the useless Sammon!) Two of these players were on duty yesterday and IMO Martin should have started with Marriott.
Maybe we need to give Cocu more time to get his own players in, but his team selections and formations are a puzzle. We will see what happens in January, I hope we get a new keeper as Hamer is as bad as Roos.
I don't know how many of you went to the game, but I insist that we played with a back four, Bogle played in midfield. The 6 in front kept changing places and Waghorn spent some time on the left wing. I can't pick a MOTM as the whole team were poor, 2 bad games on the trot from you know who, I hope he goes in January and we get someone who gives a damn.
God it was flippin cold yesterday, we need some excitement to warm us up.

You concentrate on your team, you looked pretty and passed the ball well, but you never looked like scoring except for the lucky pen.

VC, you may have blinked and missed it, but we lined up in a 3-5-2 with Bogle as a wing-back. After only a few minutes we changed to a back four. Cocu said as much in his interview. He said he had expected a 3-5-2 from QPR and wanted to go like for like, but they opted for a back four so he changed to match them.
I don’t really understand the logic. He implied that whatever they did, we needed to change. Why wouldn’t the converse apply instead?
