Hi folks

Hi folks,

Just wanted to intro myself before jumping on articles un-announced.

Long-time follower of the site and thought it was time I signed up and added my two-bob for what it's worth.

I was on the old BBC 606 (as "OssiesDream") and it's good to see some survivors from there on JA606.
I might be slightly biased here but the Spurs page definitely has the best articles and debate - as well as the most sensible contributors…plus one or two "emotional" ones, shall we say.

My dad took me to my first Spurs match in 1983 so I've seen some good times as well as some utter dross.
Politically I'm a Labour man (then again, I can't imagine any clear-thinking person on here voting for an inept, xenophobic, lying showman such as Johnson - and that's before you take into account him being the one largely responsible for West Ham getting a stadium off the taxpayer.

But enough of that. Looking forward to yet more interesting times as a Tottenham supporter and here's to a good weekend of results for us.

And another narrow minded would be politician, to join Sandy's hopefuls

Be quite Tory Boy.

Not so sandy, voted Labour last time, wont this time though, just saying that I'm not influenced by what happened 40/50 years ago like some do , it's not all black or white to me there are shades inbetween
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Your call mate, but not sure why you are mentioning 40/50 years ago. I am a very up to date kind of fella, and can see the mess the Tories are making in the 2nd decade of the 21st century. Up to you though how you vote.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sandy if you were that up to date I dont think you would be voting for Corbyn his politics are from the past
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, the Conservatives' policies are Dickensian so do Corbyn's pre-date that period?

Yawn

Yes Danny, like the Daily Mail, Sun and Daily Express, newspapers and relics of the past, where I assume you get all your insightful political views from.

Your mate Rees-Mogg is a relic of the Victorian Age, along with most of the Tory Party, including the Leader.

That's the Labour who the two times have been in power bankrupted the country and whose MPs are a danger to women.

Er no the Banks bankrupted the country, and no Labour MPs are not a danger to women. But men are in danger from Johnson, he don`t like Bumboys.

Not sure what you're getting at with the "danger to women" bit (although Johnson was involved in an interesting incident with his mrs that the Police were called out to recently).

Regarding your financial management argument; in a global financial meltdown triggered by the US sub-prime mortgage market I'm not sure it's accurate to accuse the UK government of the time of "nearly bankrupting the country" - in fact many commentators praised Gordon Brown's actions at time for averting a major collapse of most UK banks.

No, when managing a country's economy you need to keep things on an even keel and not do anything unnecessarily stupid such as, I don't know, calling a referendum on the country's membership of a lucrative trading bloc with our closest neighbours when most of the electorate don't have the first clue about how that bloc works and how crucial to everyday life it is? - now that's how you wipe billions off a country's economy overnight Tory-style.
