Kelechi

Really made a difference today, some lovely little flicks and interplay and to come on having not played at all in the PL this season and grab an assist and then the winner is just brilliant. I'm so pleased for him, as were the whole team and the best thing is we got to celebrate his goal twice.

Kelechi Iheanacho he's magic you know.....

Interesting to hear Vardy say how brilliant Ian is in training and also how popular he is with all the squad, good man keeping his head up in difficult times.

Now gives us another equation in who to bring on.

I’ve said on the other thread, but what was wonderful to see was not a team celebrating victory, but a squad celebrating if of their own. A player who has been through a tough period and looked to have lost all confidence.

He looked a player today no longer Burdened by his form, but hungry to put it right. He was absolutely class today and what was most impressive was his link up play. He looked on it and his finish was one we know he can do. He’s gifted in front of goal when confident.

Now, can he use this as a springboard or will he go back to erratic form? No denying he took his chance today and what he also gave us is a plan F.

When teams set up with 5 at the back he can help Vardy.

Brilliant. So pleased for him. Another big tick for Rodgers’ excellent man management.

Great substitution, and great for players confidence.
How poor were the officials today, the ref was quite dreadful and totally out of his depth.

thorney - My thoughts on the ref: I've seen Graham Scott a few times now and he wants to be lenient. I generally approve of that tactic as you don't want to see yellow cards flying around everywhere - you want to see a football match played in the right spirit rather than one that descends into a scrap because the ref's lost control of it. (Yellow cards can wind players up.)

But today he fell into the trap of allowing one team to get away with anti-football too much. Yes, he booked Sigurdsson for kicking the ball away. But I'm sure even Sigurdsson would have to admit that that was a blatant action that would have made Scott look daft if he hadn't issued the card.

I feel for him with the rolling around, because player welfare is his responsibility and you can't fall into the trap of assuming they're all crying wolf. But Everton did take the mick out of him with the timewasting and he should probably have stopped it.

Beside that I thought he was generally alright without being 'good'.

Arro - It was really refreshing to see Kelechi's contribution today, and to get the rewards (1 assist and 1 goal) when you've clearly given everything to the occasion must surely do wonders for his confidence. I expect we'll see more of him over the coming weeks, particularly the League Cup match at Goodison.

Dunge,Everton players were a disgrace and the ref allowed them to get away with it.He didn't produce a yellow card for a challenge about 15 mins in a set a tone of feeble referring.
He missed 2 foul throws,3 instances of kicking the ball away after whistle had gone.Everton knew the could get away with timewasting and cynicism and he allowed it..
Thought it was a terrible display and felt we were playing 12 men.
Nothing of course will happen, another point how little added time in both halves, should have been double.

The ref was quite frankly pathetic in regard to the blatant timewasting throughout the game by Everton. Also in no way did Moss allow enough additional time for either half.

The hilarious thing of course is that in the end it ended up hurting Everton, not us.
