Betting on what you don’t want to happen

Am I the only weirdo that does this?

I’ve made money betting against United in recent times as well as betting on Liverpool to win.

Feels dirty but it’s the next best thing when results don’t go your the way you want.

For instance a Liverpool win and Spurs to win or draw on a double is almost evens tonight and looks inevitable.

Seems an easy way of making a few quid to dull the pain.

I do bet on things that I don't want to happen quite often as a silver lining.

I bet on Arsenal winning in the UCL once, years ago as part of an acca. The other 2 were Barca and Real. At HT Arsenal 3-0 at home to Ajax, one of the of the other 2 wasnt winning. In the end comfortable wins for Real and Barca so i went to my app to see how much i'd won and when it said £0 that's when i saw Arsenal had drawn 3-3

That was about £100 bet which i had built up over a few weeks from a £5 bet, mainly on UCL home wins.

Not sure ive bet since

I do exactly the same with Liverpool. Get them at evens at half time to Palace and 4/1 with about 15-20 mins to go vs Villa.

Got them at 12/1 to advance vs Barca after the 2nd leg.

AFTER the 2nd leg? Who's your bookie, morespurs?

I had an 8 game both teams to score acca on Saturday. Only Burnley let me down. 15 shots, 0 goals. I'd have won £668 off a £5 bet.

I also had another one, 8 games again, that I could have cashed out for £115 on Saturday night, that I let ride for the last 2 games on Sunday. Ended up with nothing.

You know what I meant.

It was too well set up to let it go though!

After the initial silver lining, it’d make me feel worse about feeling a bit better that we’d lost or the dippers had won.

I’d feel dirty and ashamed, and would likely descend into self-loathing and depression, and end up contemplating suicide.

Betting on the scousers to win is the moral equivalent of borrowing the PS4 from the kid next door whilst he’s in intensive care on life support after being ploughed down in front of the school gates.

By you.

Did it against Aston villa, win or draw. Hated it.

I do it quite often, then I spend all match hoping I lose money.
