We've seen some bad performances from Arsenal over the years, but today reality really hit, this is the best these players can give, unfortunately their best isn't good enough!
Not to pick on anyone in particular, but Ozil is finished, he no longer has the ability to affect games even against Brighton at home he couldn't, Xhaka and Torriera had to keep vacating the midfield to push forward because we lack so much creativity.
Bellerin, would he get into any of the top 8 teams as a fullback? probably not! Zero threat going forward, not comfortable on the ball, infact very clumsy, he just gives us no outlet, he gets the ball and simply passes it back to defenders half the time, he has to have arces of grass infront of him to affect the game. Yes I know he's just coming back from injury but this was all the same before his injury. In contrast to Kolasinac who when he plays on the other side actually affects the game consistently whenever he has the ball.
David Luiz, far too casual as a defender, not agressive enough when he needs to be, constantly standing off players because he's scared of their pace. Makes you realise how much we miss Koscielny, who was aggressive when needed to be and more importantly actually knew how to defend.
Forwards are probably our strongest area, but far too often they seem to have no ability to interplay, Auba is mostly weak in this area, lacks the ability to create something and needs the ball infront of him where he's running on to it to be effective, if any defender is near him or infront of him he tends to lose the ball.
I hope for the sake of those who wanted Wenger hounded out that things turn around. This is the first time I'm geniunely worried about Arsenal ending up in a bottom half scrap.

I’m not having a dig and I agree with most of your article but Wenger had to go, I’d say 95% of the fan base wanted him gone. You making it sound like it was a knee jerk thing with the hounded out part. Their was no case for him staying and we would still be in this mess had he stayed. Unfortunately we have recruited poorly in managerial terms and player recruitment. The whole club is a mess from top to bottom, the scouting system is terrible. We have an owner who prefers to sit at his expense ranch in the states than come and watch his team which is now falling into obscurity due to his negligence. We have players with huge egos and poor attitude. We need a no nonsense manager to come in and shake things up or we are going fall and fall.

I agree Wenger had to go at some point, but can't shake the feeling we would never get this bad if he were in charge right now, but guess we'll never know.
Lets hope things can turn around quickly. Worrying times ahead!
