What is wring with DCFC's crowd?

What is it with Derby's attendances lately.

The two biggest and most decorated clubs in the Championship lead the way (Leeds and Forest) but it was one thing that Derby always clung onto, as a way to justify themselves when chatting to the big boys.

Why are folks not attending anymore?

I'm not sure you should be getting into arguments about numbers and stuff, Strett. Let's face it, this has never been your area of strength. But then again, what has?

Stay on topic. We’re talking about what is wring with Derby’s attendances.
You suggest a reason why Forest’s is higher, you maybe correct with that; but why is Derby’s attendance dropping?

Seems wring, that’s all.

Our attendance is dropping because the football is boring, it takes ages to get to the ground (when will they finish the roadworks?), It takes ages to get away from the ground, the catering at the ground is appalling, the beer is crap, even my bovril was sh!te last week.

Am I wring folks?

No VC, I think you are wroight. As ever. But the average gate of Derby will be greater by some margin than the average of Forest over the last 10 years.

That's because bovril is crap. Who wants to drink a cup of gravy? Someone was drinking it near me at the Preston game. If you are in the middle of the East Stand maybe it was you VC10.

Anyway I suddenly was assaulted by a smell something like a freshly filled charnel house on a hot day. Looking round I saw someone with a cup of brown steaming liquid. It was a smell that brought back unpleasant memories of childhood.

I know for a fact that no cat E half season tickets are left. They’ve all gone. Other areas are being snapped up. The’re coming to see Rooney no doubt but no more plastic than the current bunch of glory hunter swelling the Kennels attendance.
Let’s have a look at the figures again in January.

No it wasn't me Spart, I have a season ticket in the West stand lower. The thing is we call at the pub for a few before the match and the beer is good, so I can't drink the muck they serve at PP. I'm going to try the coffee next game!

Anyway I'd love to meet you and my pal Ramdini sometime, you were the first people who responded to me when I first joined this forum in 1963. Perhaps we should leave it till after December 12th.

I would also like to meet VC10 and Spart. I think we have similar backgrounds. I was an RR apprentice. I studied day release and evenings to get a good technical education whilst working for RR. I used my National Service to enhance my qualification to degree standard at Heriot Watt Uni in Edinburgh. I then worked as an engine designer for 10 years, before breaking out (with a partner) into a design engineering company. We designed and supplied some big projects in railway and vehicle brake testing, exhaust emission testing. We supplied to USA, Germany, France, Italy etc. Then Mrs Thatcher came along and shafted - big time - British industry in pursuit of controlling the Trades Unions. Some may consider it to have been worth the sacrifice. I don't. She did more damage than Goering to our industries. I think at this point VC10 and I disagree. I have become a lifelong anti-Tory and he is a dyed in the wool Conservative. But from what I have read of his posts I admire him and respect him. I am a retainer, and I think he is a leaver. I have liked many of Spart's posts and I think we would get on.

To top all of the above, we are all Derby County supporters of long standing. COYR
