DPL vs MK Dons

You may have thought that recent results had broken my faith with our favourite team, but no, it is only BT and my ISP that have broken my links with the WWW. Not only have BT failed in their excavations of the road, but the nearest transmission mast is not working properly either!

So, I am reduced to travelling away from all of the non-functional technology to try for the nth time to get some data uploaded using my rather small phone keyboard.

I actually went to Wycombe where we were a bit unlucky to lose I think, but at Gillingham it could have been even worse. We missed Anderson and Gillingham were all over us from the start.

Anyway, being largely cut off from day to day news, I note the exit from the Trophy thing which again we seem to have deserved too and perhaps it's a good thing that it is ONLY MK Dons. Let's hope we can at least avoid another loss, so I'll say 1-0 (Taylor - who might have made a difference at Gillingham where Bingham rather showed his limitations).

Donaldo is Ok, but his internet and ancient phone are performing about as well as DRFC. Am sending this on another phone, so let's hope, unlike so many other attempts, it UPLOADS!

How can a team have 66% of possession, 20 shots to 7 with twice as many on target, lose? Doncaster Rovers can show you how! We certainly created chances, but it is a long time since I've seen so many easy chances fluffed. We should have been out of reach by half time.
To me our best player was Reece James who was sacrificed to bring on another striker.
Daniels probably had his best game so far but gave away another penalty. I'd not play him as he has too many brain fades in the penalty area. Wright seems to be fit, so I would have played him. Next game - Anderson and John should start.
Also once again there were too many sloppy passes - Sheaf being guilty again, but had some flashes of brilliance.

I said the other week, our next 3 games could define our season, MK, the Don's, then Accrington st home. Win those and we would be sat pretty just outside the play offs with 2/3 games in hand.
I predicted 3 points as we're playing terrible at the moment, but, it looks like 3 points could be to high a total.
With the games to come around Christmas, then towards the end of January, it's not looking good. Confidence is extremely low, Moore hasn't got a plan B and his tactics are strange to say the least.
The players hes brought in to fill the massive void left by Marquis, leaves a lot to the imagination. Hopefully Ennis can add to his goal on Saturday, but he'll probably only get 15-20mins towards the end.
I've not seen Copps shake his head and look at the floor like he has been doing this season, some of the passing is beyond schoolboy stuff, there just seems to be so much not going our way. Doesn't help that our only tactical strategy is to play it out the back when, even Stevie Wonder can see, sometimes you just need to get rid. Every team does the same thing, back off till we've taken the goal kick then push up, silly passes across our back line ensures the fans of a few heart attack moments. One of the biggest culprits is Sheaf, followed by Whiteman, who is playing about 50% at the moment. Let's hope hes not doing a Marquis, having his head turned by bigger clubs wanting him in January. Probably why the club have extended his contract so he's worth more. I'd let him go for 3 mill, the board might even give some towards us actually buying someone 😂

BVZ, I agree with most of what you say, but on Saturday we did create many good chances - although against a not very good team. All the forwards and mid-fielders missed relatively easy chances. Even Copps and Taylor missed what we would have expected them to score. Whiteman's shooting accuracy has all but disappeared along with some of his passing, and when he is on target there was just not enough power.
I thinks this drop-off in Whiteman's performance and the now erratic performances from Sheaf are the main difference from earlier this season. On Saturday Sheaf also missed two relatively easy chances.
As you say, Thomas and Bingham are not the answer upfront.
I think after the MKDons game I said this passing back and across the back too often was not good for my blood pressure. Even John, who otherwise seems to have real potential, is catching the disease.
Anyway, onward and hopefully upwards!

If Rovers are looking for a future goalscorer in the lower leagues look no further than Leamington striker, 22 year old Josh March. 22 goals in 25 starts and a hat trick in5 mins last night against Telford
